I am snoozing (chance would be a fine thing) and people I have just been playing with have not been on line for 8 hours. 
There is one guy who has not been online according to my friends list for over a year. I have not been playing for a year. I am a screaming eagle  but I am told a pussy is the player of the week.

think of this: if you keep steam opened for too long, steam will start devoloping little critters inside the graphics card chip, then it will pop out and eat your eyes while youre dreaming about hl2

I don't think its STEAM. If you have Deathmatch open to the title screen, it shows that you are in game and not "online" "away" or "busy". I used to think you were playing whilst I was working  and sleeping.
I said to myself. "self, when does this guy work and sleep" Now I know if there is no join game button you are not there  I'm a little slow.
