New MP3 Player Subject description: Help me xD |
|
Since my zen vision M screwed up and it comes out that the retailer I bought it has total crap warranty (bye-the-bye 250 euro), I need to get a new MP3player. I thought of some of you as the more hardware savvy dudes so I supposed it would be a good idea to post here. I'm searching for a player with
SD or microSD card slot (so expandable) (I've got a real cheap 2GB card here (microSD with SD adapter so multi-purpose))
At least 2 GB internal memory (without the SD)
Flash memory (can resist my kind of lifestyle better than HDD player)
Not more than 100 Euro (= 150 US Dollars, 70 British Pounds)
Not too ugly looking
Reliable so I don't have to get another one in a year
If possible, USB host (because it's really convenient to be able to connect it to my PSP, HDD and ZEN (harddisk still works)
For now, I've been thinking of two models
Cowon Iaudio D2 (preferred, looks very nice)

Iriver X20 (also very nice)

In Europe and especially in Belgium stuff is pricier than in the US. That's mostly the reason why I'll have to get them second hand. They aren't widely available at all in stores let alone second hand so that's why I ask your advice. perhaps there are better players for me.
Thanks

Hi, m8
just had a look on ebay and you can buy the spec you want for about half what you are prepared to pay provided you don't have your heart set on a brand name. Even cheaper if you are prepared to buy direct from Hong Kong. Thats where my mp3 came from over a year ago and its is identical to the ipod nano without the itunes but other extra features. It cost me about 30 euros including the carriage. Works perfectly and has really good audio. I could have bought 3 for the same price that the nano cost at the time.

I went for the sandisk sansa E250. The cool thing is that it runs rockbox so I can play flash games, gameboy games, read pdf and txt, run kinda every video type available etc etc etc got it for 80 euro.

I haven't tried but I'm sure you'll get there using this method. But as said in the start of the video your psp needs firmware 1.50 or hacked firmware.
