Breen has a question (Germans might know this more than i) Subject description: WTFLOLHAX111! |
|
500 years ago two guys made a theory, the one that sun was the center of the universe and another one that stated that the earth was the center of the universe
the first theory is more correct than the other but are both wrong
If the universe is infinit, both the sun and the earth can be center of the universe
my computer might be the center of the universe
The exact spot on which my balls are hanging, is the center of universe.
Discuss. (My balls.)

Incorrect.
The universe is extremely big. Impossibly massive but it is not infinite.
Working out the exact centre of the universe would also be next to impossible as the universe is expanding all the time. It might be in your balls this second, the next it could be 100 miles to your right

sarge, if the universe is expanding, and its not infinit, then there has to be room for it to expand
that 'room' must have something, Nothing, is already something

but there has to be a core, because it expands in every way, thus there has to be a place where it all started (big bang's core?)

Dr Breen,
If you are going to start a philosophical thread at least get your facts right - the heliocentric theory of the solar system was postulated by Nicolaus Copenicus and he was Polish not German.
Everybody knows that the planet Zog is at the center of the Universe and not located in the vicinity of your appendages .

Indeed there must be something, but this "something" is not part of our space-time meaning (for us) it does not exist. Whatever this "something" is, it cannot be understood by humans because it is so different to the laws of physics that bind us to our universe.

Breen has a question. |
|
Here are a few philosopher we studied at the University of live on the planet Zog.
Immanuel Kant was a real piss-ant who was very rarely stable.
Heideggar, Heideggar was a boozy beggar who could
think you under the table.
David Hume could out-consume Schoppenhauer and Hegel.
And Whittgenstein was a beery swine who was just as sloshed as Schlegel.
There's nothing Nieizsche couldn't teach 'ya
'bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.
John Stewart Mill, of his own free will
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato they say could stick it away,
Half a crate of whiskey every day.
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
And Hoppes was fond of his dram.
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart.
I drink, therefore I am." (I think???)
Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed;
A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's pissed.
Apologies to Monty Phtyon

Nope. I was refering to the stuff outside our universe that you referred to. The stuff that our universe is expanding into, we cant study it because it doesnt exist in our laws of physics (I.E not in our universe)
dark matter is matter that we cannot see or detect (very easily ). It accounts for more than 50% of the universe's total mass. Without it, it wouldnt be the universe we knew.

Acctualy Dark matter and dark energy is 90% of total Matter, normal baryonic matter is only 10%

Considering dark engery is a force, it hardly be counted as matter
ratios between matter, dark matter and dark energy are shown here (without gravity included in the equation)

yeah
lets assume dark matter is physical, maybe the reason why we cant see it its because its nonbaryonic matter, meaning that it doesnt consist of the protons and neutrons of “normal” matter. What’s more accurate is that it doesnt interact at all with electricity or magnetism..
some people say that dark matter can have 2 hypothetical particles: axion and neutralino, which tbh are ghost particles
EDIT: about the axion..
maybe it does exist, but i bet we wont be able to see them, nor our kids, nor our grandsons, nor their grandsons

What if the nothing is expanding at a greater rate than the universe? - that would mean the universe is shrinking. OMG OMG HANDS ON HEADS - HEADS BETWEEN LEGS - KISS ASS GOODBYE urla urla!!

Hmm . Not infinite. So I suppose when reaching the end it stops. But if I could build a rocket and launch it into space and start a journey to the end of the universe. There must be something that will block me from getting further . If that is the case, there must be a way to see or touch its backside...
Wanna know my theorie about the existence of the human race?
First there where dinosaurs and they were living happyly feeding themselves with giant trees . There were no humans poluting or killing the planet at that moment . They didnt even exist...
Then all out of the sudden a giant asteroide appears and slams into the earth causing an enormeos dustcloud in the atmosphere . Because of that the big dinosaurs died . But this asteroide could have brought some other organisms to our planet . Virusses. These virusses evolved in time to creatures like us or into deseases like cancer, HIV,... .
What do you think of this??

It is theoretically possible but your rocket would need to be travelling faster than the speed of light to reach the edge of the universe (which is impossible according to einstein.. who is known to be wrong lol).

You asked for me
Take this:
The universe doesnt extends. But the mass in it extends. (The stars move away from each other)
When you would come to this called end of universe nothing blocks you because there is nothing except you. Behind this end is just no mass. You could call this: border-of the mass; So please forgot this border; it is just there because the mass moves to slow to be already behind that
So the universe is endless but the mass is concentrated more or less
Easy.

hi guys...
most of the stuff u wrote is wrong
hey breen u said something realy intelligent "Nothing, is already something" right cuz the room has to have a temperature(Uncertainty principle) and as Einstein told us that energie is equivalent to matter(E=mc²).
sargE:"Considering dark engery is a force, it hardly be counted as matter " false false false ever heard of E=mc²???
Diet H2O plz if u want a physical discussion dont talk about what is outside the universe, or befor the big bang...
sargE:"It is theoretically possible but your rocket would need to be travelling faster than the speed of light to reach the edge of the universe" u said it the roket has to travel faster than the speed of lifght... so its ever theoretically impossible (Special relativity).
WOW Unyu nice theory, i like it. so that means that the universve would still be as big as a Planck length(1.61624 × 10^-35 m)
Zog Ecosse: "Does anybody want to discuss quantum mechanics"
ya i'd love to...
