Clan Fight ELEA vs TSGK #3 Subject description: Ballroom blast Event from Sat Apr 18, 2009 21:00 to Sat Apr 18, 2009 22:00 |
|
Just had a blasting bout v. [EYE] yesterday (thread: http://www.eyeclan.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=558&p=4797#p4797) which has led to this concept:
I've been toying with a micro-fightclub idea that could fit [EYE], [KBH] and TSGK. The reason is that we all play with servers set differently and rarely get to play matches using unique settings.
There are too few unique teams out there and so we should band together and turn hl2 into what we want it to be.
Yesterday's match was played map 1 and 3 on [EYE] server using their settings (500 grav air accel 10000!), maps 2 and 4 on our server using our settings (600 grav standard and 400 grav)). Was a total blast and lasted for 3 hours! Should set these things up for weekends, like fixed schedule.
We're hopefully meeting [KBH] next Sunday April 12, so is TSGK available Sunday GMT 19:00 April 19?

Sound good, we may head for a 5 vs 5.
Will let you know the maps soon.
Thanks.

Brilliant. This can be any amount of fighters and any map; we actually decided maps on the fly yesterday and fighter total was whatever was available at the time. We had 8 total fighters that were able to participate in this and I think [EYE] had something similar.

Ok, that's fine for us either.
Fight moved to Saturday 18 April as decided.

Hi
I'm organisaing our side of the clan match. We need to confirm some details:
1. Time. I'm notoriously bad with understanding timezones.
I'm taking this to be 20:00 UK time.
2. Maps. Our preferred Maps are dm_killbox_tsgk_v8_rc3 and dm_lockdown with gravity 400. Each map of 15 minutes duratiion. RPG disabled - all maps. FF off.
3. Hosting? We can host - probably server XI in the Netherlands. I sent you a PM with further details. Alternatively, you can host.
So let us know asap confirmation of hosting arrangements, maps and preferences.
We're looking forward to the match.
Regards
Diet

1. GMT = UK but either 19:00 or 20:00 is fine.
2. Maps. We'll just pick a map on the fly; will prolly be KBHloaded version of that classic (no need to look for weapons or spawn someplace far away from anything useful). The other might be bio_cal.
3. Gravity. We may run anything from normal to 125 with airaccel set to 10000 and friction 2.
4. RPG and FF off.
We'll use ELEA I (81.19.219.114:27015) for our maps as it has the maps and setting controls. U might want to check this out: http://teamelea.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=54&Itemid=96
It explains how we prefer play matches these days. We had nearly quit matches as they were too much about winning instead of just playing. So we brought it closer to regular dm by tossing out the rulebook.

Not at this time of the year, UK is currently GMT+1, original time was set to 8 p.m. UK, 7 p.m. GMT and 21h CEST.

Urk, summer time, forgot that. Iceland's the only country in the world I think that doesn't adjust time. Wish the world was set to UTC so the clock reads the same all over. Breakfast at 21:00, wake up at 01:00, school starts at 22:00 etc. depending on where yr at.
I've been messing with the leading political party up here, doing some marketing and data mining stuff for them. This is the current and next government, so quite ok. Now, they want me to be in a cocktail party tonite so I'll miss this whole thing dammit.
Sent Diet Steam name of the one that steps in for me, Teflon Don. Who knows, I may be back early drunk as a skunk. We have three ready to go and I bet a 4th will appear as always (even a 5th and 6th).
