For a game that is in decline Laughing

It appears as I have had no problem
finding and or helping fill servers almost nightly. Round after round and night after night.
I just thought I would post some shots of the good times instead of the usual
crap the angry banned/muted people post about empty servers Laughing

And to thank everyone for keeping this game fun. and active.

Last night was unusual at server XX
Normally we are on server XXI or VIII. And this would be GMT 3am. Shocked

I know XXI and VIII may not be server I Borgy, but I invite you to come play if you have insomnia one night Laughing

There are many good players on this side of the pond also. Wink

I have been surprised at the amount of newer players lately though.
That's a good thing.

Trust me this game will never die, I can still fire up an Unreal Tournament Mod that predates HL2:DM by many years and still find 250+ active servers with a good 400 player strong list. Unfortuantely my GFX card no longer supports the game and I cannot play nomore Crying or Very sad

Though HL2:DM doesn't give a player count, going by the HL2DM:University Steam Group as a rough average of dedicated regular players, then we have at least 3000 active regular players (this is not including the people who just play this game as somthing different to there First game of choice - i.e a CS:S fan simply wanting a break from CS:S).

This game to live for ever (And Cabbage for Prime Minister).

I used to frequent XXI, my favorite running server of all and it's nice to see so many regulars still going there.

Maybe I'll pop in one of these nights and take some names ^^

Meh, sorry to put a downer on the love buzz, but most of the 1,000 or so servers for this game are empty for a reason. Badly designed maps, poor server settings, idiotic admins/rules. This game is dying, by that I mean it is not nearly as fun as it used to be..

I love the US TSGK servers, it's always a good time.

I agree with His Primelyness Our Minister too that this game won't die anytime soon. It's too unique and to be honest it's pretty ahead of it's time. Bugs or no bugs, it's a kickass game.

There are hardcore HL2DM players like myself that play every day. I am finding it hard to get the type of game I like. It all appears to be smg touting novices or pros/semi pros who take the game far too seriously.
I have about 20 servers in my favorits list and can normally find a game on one of them most of the time. However as I said it is not always the type of game I like.
I am on line from 1800 gmt until 2330 and for a time after 0130 almost every day so if you are looking for sombody to make the numbers up or just looking for a game I am about. I dont even mind playing with 100+ ping and getting crucified as long as it is a good game.

I am getting on in years and I will be playing as long as I am able or until steam pulls the plug. As far as I am concerened, the game is only dead under these circumstances.

Yes, there are probably good games to be had where you are and, I have played with some of the players you mention.
It is not about being the best, it is about enjoying the game.
Thats why I am in the clan I am in. Not my skill but the people.
This seems to just vanish when the fun element ........................
