Klick on the purchase game M8. DON'T add the game to the shopping cart and download the demo from that screen. That's how I did it after having the same problem....

Be prepared to murder your friends in the single player version Shocked

PS the 6.3 days on the loading screen is not the download time Shocked

its the countdow to the game release.

I played the xbox360 demo and it feels like a half life 2 mod.
I am really not putting the game down but spending 50 bucks on a game like that is really not worth it. It has some cool moments but am not taking the plunge till this game is like 10 bucks lol

graphically yes but gameplay wise it's the same. The source engine on a machine with an os that is very similar to windows. Very Happy

It is definately not worth the asking price and by rights the game should be a flop but the playing public are fickle.
If I can remain connected long enough to complete a full team match I will be in a better position to add constructive chriticism.
It seems to be a fusion of theams from several games which work by themselves but fail woefully when mixed. I can see elements of Quake 4 and Bishock in the gameplay and graphics. The game engine is obvious. There is not a great deal of originality here in my opinion.
There are a few touches which caught my attention but not enought to make me sit up and say that's awesome.
The hallmark of a great game is its ability to be transformed into a team game and retain its appeal. There is no way the converse could be applied to Left 4 Dead.

Mikey, the ps3 version is the worse out of all the versions. Get the PC version if your pc could run it. The PC version is the best,plus you get the mods etc etc. PS3 version wont have any of that Sad

I loved Oblivion. Seriously one of the best PC games I've ever played. Once you get to create your own spells and items it's awesome. Fallout 3 is made by Bethdesa Softworks as well, and they're saying the gameplay is even better. I'm only an hour or two into it, but so far it's at least as good. Been playing too much HL2:DM to get into it. Wink

There are now a some full game reviews out there.
Whilst I was looking, I noticed a headline which states that a package is to be released by Steam (sorta like the Orange Box idea) but it will have 22 games in it INCLUDING Left 4 Dead. It is basically all the hl games all the Counter Strike anf theTF games with Peggle and other bits thrown in.
It is advertised at $99 which is about £65.
So, if you are just starting out or have missed out on some of the early titles and are going to shell out the £30 for Left 4 Dead, an extra £35 will complete the Valve package. 21 extra games for £35 or £1.66 ($2.50) a game.
Not bad. Pity I have the lot already.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's Plasmo so he's always drunk, you say!!!!

But when I play the game in a normal state of mind I just get to thinking how the hell can I kill 6 zombies with a shottie blast from 50 feet away, and whatever happened to the slow and lumbering zombies that I grew up loving? Lighting zombies on fire with the molotov cocktails is cool and the pipebombs are hilarious, but I don't think the novelty would last long. If the game hits 25 bones I would consider it, but right now probably not.

Besides, since the dawn of the dead remake every zombie seems to be on speed. I can see some zombies that ran everyday when they were still alive being fast, but the dude in the hooded sweatshirt jumping 30 feet from a lightpole to rip my face off....yeah. I know a couple stoners who could jump a curb for some funions but they bash their baby-makers when trying to jump a fence. Not that I'm saying that zombies are less athletic than stoners (or that everyone who wears hooded sweatshirts are stoners)...but let's be realistic here.

P.S. Shimmy, my zombie rant goes to you first...this is merely a repost. It just seemed appropriate to post here too Very Happy
