Weird School Fundraiser |
|
I go to a catholic school, which has a tuition of $7,000 annually.
The school is currently holding a fundraiser to put security cameras in the parking lot.
So as an incentive, those who pay $35 get to go on a pre-planned walk with the rest of the students who pay and once you return you are free to go. Those who pay $100 get out of the walk and just sit and chill until the first person returns, then they can leave.
The weird thing is, if you dont pay money you are forced into a 3 hour "silent study hall" (detention in my, and many others, opinion).
Isn't that wrong to punish those who are not be able to afford 35 dollars?

Down with the system man! DOWN WITH IT!
ok am relaxed, but that sounds really retarded! the 3 hours are for sitting and brooding. Thinking on how to destroy the school ( sorry freelancer added those ideas with his brain adding idea device)
so what is the bacon going to do?
with the 35 bucks, u can buy new games

on the day, go into school on crutches and say you broke your leg, and tell them although you did have the money to go on the walk, you had to spend all the money on crutches...or better yet..... throw a sickie, go to your local park with a couple of mates and find something....mmmmmm....'fun' to do

Check out which girls didn't pay the $35, then see if the 3 hours will be usefull or useless.

They want money from you either by walking or sitting.
- $100 for sitting
- $35 for walking
- See if you can pay them $5 for running or $12 for skipping/trotting
Or you can do all of the above by not going to school that day.

Nice move, dude. The 7k was supposed to pay for those cameras, if the school needs extra they can sell fruit and popcorn like the organizations did while I was in school. Forcing kids to pay or take an absence is total crap. They should just go the college route and raise tuition next year for their inefficiency. They're going to raise it anyway, so they may as well slap a couple cameras in there for the hell of it. Or they could just ask for the local catholic parishes to fundraise for them....
That being said, with the high percentage of fatties in the U.S., the walk would have probably been quite short. I would have paid you 150 to do that walk on your hands . You know you could have done it!
And Free and gtamike, Catholic schools in the U.S. can do what they please. They are private institutions. People pay quite a bit of cash for their children to go there, and usually have to agree to some sort of contractual thingy that protects the school from whatever bull crap they try to pull.

Today in the Catholic Gazette, Cardinal Breen, Head of the Vatican's Committee for Education, commented on the latest findings on the performance of Catholic Shools. Speaking in front of educational professionals at the 5th symposium on Catholic Education, Cardinal Breen outlined the findings of a major research project spanning some 11 years. "Our findings are based on sound and objective analysis of metadata relating to 256,000 Catholic schools worldwide. The data relies on the comparable statistics and agreed performance indicators across each diocese in each country of the world. The project involved 2,438 researchers in 86 countries". When asked to ellaborate on the main findings, Cardinal Breen said that the research has proven that "American catholic schools, and pretty much worldwide are probably the crappiest schools you can get into".
The stunned audience of education specialists queried the veracity of the findings requesting details of the sample size. Cardinal Breen admitted that the sample size consisted of 1 Portugese school but that his army of researchers were satisfied that this sample was universally representative. It later emerged that the research team consisted of 23 CSS players with broadband troubles. Asked why the research avoided studying data from secular and other religious schools, Cardinal Breen commented "WTF! Do you think I want a Fatwah on my head". When asked to ellaborate, Cardinal Breen said "Dude, Fatwah? It's like a Jihad? You know like Rushdie and stuff?". When pointed out that it was in fact a term that merely indicates a legal opinion issued by an Islamic authority, Cardinal Breen pointed out that he was also an authority on all known religions including unknown religions and that "People should STFU or I'll add them to my Friend's list".
