Some respectable players told me they don't like server I as much as they used to, because there are a lot of new players on it.

I read about somebody else's idea of having a server only for the top 100 ranked on their servers.

So maybe, would it be a good idea to have this system for server I, or some other TSGK server?

I'm not answering the question myself, because I don't know. I do believe that having a server like that in the TSGK fleet will draw a lot of players and would produce nice games, but it wouldn't be good if the newer players don't get to learn from the more experienced, i.e. if the 'elite' would only play themselves.

what i gather is that some people are complaining that when the new people smg them they take off a 100 points.

hmmm top 100 server, it's a cool idea but no one will play with the new kids if that server goes up

Personally I don't think it's a good idea, due to the reasons mentioned above. Being in the top 100 doesn't mean you are a good player, games on that server will also have their bad things just like the fights on server I. I think it woual boast the "gotta get points" feeling even more especially with the new players resulting in things like multiple accounts just to play on the top 100 server.

TSGK did have a top server once. Look at some old threads. As I recall it was discontinued due to inactivity. If folks don't like server 1 there's plenty others. XIX is very nice, has a choice of maps and is not used often enough.

If you did a top 100 server the forum would be full of players moaning that they cant get on thing .... leave well alone.

This is one step below pro playing.

The smg novices, or freaks, are part an parcel of the game. Frustrating as they may be.

The only way for those who have no natural talent, like myself, is by experience. Now, you are not going to get that by being exclude from playing where this can be found.

The top players are obvious, but how do you chose the also rans in the top 100? How do you promote or demote a player from the top 100?

You could use the Global Stats but then again would all of the top 100 want to be part of this setup? I think not. Then you argue about the outsiders who want to take part.

The idea of being excluded from anything but clan private servers and arranged clan fixtures is totally wrong. This is not what the game is about.

Although this aurgument has been suggested several times, I personally think that the smg should have 1 clip only on spawn. This would give newer players the incentive to move to find more ammo or change to/learn another weapon. This in turn would irrate the better players less.

This should only be done on server 1 though, so newer players have other servers to learn on should they not like the idea of moving from there camp site.

On the matter of players being irritated by SMG it should be pointed out once and for all that SMG over usage is a myth. While we hear the sound of SMG all the time, it rarely gets a kill. For example, look at how few times controllerboy, a regular of server 1, is killed by it.

The only point I am making re SMG is that in fact it is relatively ineffective.

So I hope more and more people use it when playing.

SMG over usage is a myth, that's why it's the 2nd most used weapon on tsgk , i can hardly imagine one server being the exception of this..

I like your Idea Borg. 1 clip would cause those to move and use other weapons.
I do see that the better the player the less significant the smg is against you.

yes, when I was still a beginner the smg was very annoying but now I hardly notice any disturbance by it anymore. (except there are like 3 people coming at me with that horrible sound). I just dislike it when people who are good enough to not need it use it.

Is it the nuisance of being killed by SMG? or just the noise it makes?

If it is the sound, u can replace the sounds client side with something from CSS surely?

This was not about the smg.

Now I get a little bit further forward and some things annoy me, the smg being one of them.

I might be in a box and doing well and all of a sudden the game play changes. I have to cope with that

You get so far and then there is nobody wants to play sticks or physics. Its a kill box !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On an ordinary map the rules are different.

Kill box is not the only game but its mine.

Coming back on topic, how is it possible to match the kill box player with a convential map player? The skills are the same but different, as is the weapon usage.

The top 100 killbox players are not the same as the convential map players but that does not make either any less skillfull.

Each to their own. This even applies to individual maps. You can shine on one and suck on another.

The idea of grading any player is a anathema (sucks) and the idea of a super league................ let's face it we are all in there to win and enjoy ( or has that ended up in the trash can)

Wouldnt hurt to try again i suppose, but maybe top100 is a little steep? maybe top200? (last i checked i was rank 199 )
