If I'm thinking about the right update my steam actually deleted one of its files so that when it requested that I restart it, (after it had finished updating), it failed to return to my account. I had to rip out steam and reinstall both it and all the games again. Now I'm going to sort my computer out and then achronis(if thats how you spell it)it before Valve release another "update".
