how do I make it so my keybinding is the same for half life 2 as it is for half life 2 dm.
on half life 2 deathmatch you can bind a key to a wep
you can't on hl2 but I WANA
WAAAAAHHHHHH
Help this has to be possible!

I also found this very bad, I set the difficulty to hard for fun and before I could change to my weapon of choice, a pack of combine soldiers would have already killed me like 3 times, and then you still have to kill them which would probably result in 5 times or so. anyway I just used buddha

Just copy your HL2DM config.cfg and paste it over the the original HL2 config.cfg all the key binds for weapons will be the same as it is in DM.

You can change your Key-Setup as you wish or just modify the config.cfg manual. I didnt test but i see no reason why it shouldnt work. Therefor the Menue is, isnt it?
EDIT:
Just tried it with manual re-configuring the config.cfg and it worked fine. Alternative just put bind "key" "command" into the console.
Here is the Original:

Just modify it as you want it to be or put the single commands into the console. It will be saved in the config aswell.

i must just be dumb. i'll try again.
(maybe my memory is that you cant spring and grav at the same time and my brain inturpreted that as bindings) LOL i don't know.

You must remember, when pasting your config file, to Make it Read Only, otherwise HL2 will just voerwrite it back to defaults again, I think, meh fuk it im stupid

i think it's the autoexec that needs to be read only if you do it that way..
