I have found through my extensive playing of deathmatch that the best way to catch a physics object is to continuously tap the right hand mouse button instead of just holding it as this is better.

This will just either catch it or catch it and drop it, you can then quickly and without warning fire it back.

I find this method better because 1 i am very bad at timing and 2 people can be strange with their timing so just tap the right mouse and catch it!

in my opinion, yes.... but the most important thing is aiming the object to catch.

IMO - sort of. The floor helps ricochete, ricoshee, rico... bounce the object into your gg so you might be more likely to catch it.

I hate it when I'm trying to crowbar someone and they pick up an explosive barrel and kamikaze, but I found out that if you hit the barrel with crowbar/stunstick before they launch it, then you get the kill instead of them.

Crouching to catch the propeller blade is really effective, I just started doing that now.

I love stick and barrel fun. I routinely like to carry explosive barrels into stick fights, hoping that someone will smack one.

I also like to lure stickfighters into the area of a barrel and smack it when they get really close. Most people wise up pretty quick though . Usually they whip out the grav gun and throw the barrel away (or at me ). One chap even whipped out the mag and shot me in the head .

I think a couple times I've given myself more time to make the grab by turning to the side just before it hits me, so that you grab it side-on. But yeah, it's mostly hold down the secondary fire.

With the rmb pressed all the time. Only drawback is that you pick up things like med kits (useful) and a second smg
Most of my kills are with physics, it is how hl2 ends - grav gun and physics and ulimatelly combine balls.
Do you really always need to catch the physic?
Anything large can be returned with good timing and using the lmb provided it is coming more or less directly at you. Not always accurate but deadly at close quarters in a tight corner. I use this all the time with pys boxes when someone is behind them rather than grabbing the box and firing it. It gives a split second advantage.
I do not recommend using this with the prop or saw blades. At best you can deflect them but I have successfully returned the prop in this manner quite a few times. The crouch is a good defense and return technique but there are ways to defeat it every time.

Now If I could take my dog into the kill box with me he would catch everything going and bring it back to me for re use

You know what's weird...I can smack *myself* with a physic and suicide. It's like when you turn 180 to throw something behind you, but you turn about 360 instead. I can't describe it that well, because it only happens by accident.
