There is a slight problem here. There is more one AGC clan out there.

I found 2 fairly quickly

TSF are having the same problem.

You could be asking for sanctions against a legitimate member of another AGC clan. The only way to determine this is to approach the player and find out about their clan and take it from there.

I suggested in the TSF forum that a possible solution might be to use an unusual font for the clan tag. That means the person has had to have gone out of their way to find the font and it would be immediately obvious that they were trying pass themselves of as a member of you clan.

Thanks Zog, the only problem here is that some servers (s-uk) for example do not allow non ascii fonts for names.

I would think that any reasonable person would be happy to comply with a legitimate request to remove the tag or alter it so there was no confusion.

At the end of the day, most of the other clans do not play HL2 dm and it should not be a problem. The most likely accidental crossover is with a counter strike clan member.

I do not play well enough to be a member of any clan but I can see how it must be upsetting for any member who has worked hard to achieve the clan standard.

I would recon you are correct in your assumption that you are probably dealing with a person with dubious intent. As the HL2 dm community grows
this will happen and you also need to put sanctions in place for players who go beyond the bounds of acceptable play an civility conduct.

yes we were having the same prob and this is what happenned on our server the other day when the player came on our server

OK guys this guy joined our server today whilst i was doing the runoff map launch.
I politely quizzed him about his clan and how long they been going and how many players they had.
Unfortunately he was not particularly helpful.
I asked him how long his clan had been going ... he said mmmmmm aaaaaaarrrrrrrr about a month...
so i asked him how many members they had . he said.......well there is me and the other guys... gave me 1 name and went mmmmmrrrrrrrrr hmmm.
so i asked if they had a forum .. long pause then mmmmmmm no..
so i politely said would they mind changing their tags as in some other clan servers they were showing as members of my clan and we had spent some time making sure that there were no other clans with the same tags as ours running at the time we started /..
There was a long pause then he left the server
Don't think there is anything else i can do but we will see what happens.
