WARNING: Connection Problem

Lately - for the last 3 weeks or so – I’ve been experiencing a problem when I play on your servers. It happens only on TSGK servers (as far as I have discovered), but it happens on several maps. After loading a map and playing for a short while - sometimes just a few seconds and sometimes a couple of minutes - the screen suddenly freeze. I can look around but I cannot move or fire and everybody else is standing still too. After about 10 seconds I get a message in the top right corner of the screen saying: "Warning: Connection Problem". A short while after that I'm kicked of the server with the message "Lost connection to server" See screenshots below. (All times in GMT +01:00) Overwatch on VII at 15:44 after playing for about 20s. Latency for the server ~ 41 Lockdown on XIII at 15:50 after playing for 2m25s. Latency for the server ~ 31 Steamlab on XVIII at 15:55 after playing for 2m36s. Latency for the server ~ 40 Resistance on XVIII at 16:02 after playing 50s. Latency for the server ~ 47 My own latency was below 50. Here is what I have already tried: Lowered internet connection (I have a 2 Mb DSL connection) Disabled Anti Virus Disabled Firewall Deleted ClientRegistry.blob, Steam.dll and SteamUI.dll Deleted Local Content Defragmentet Cache Files Updated DirectX and graphic driver (NVIDIA 6600GT) Lowered DirectX Adjusted Video details None of the above has helped... As I have played on your server before without this problem and as I don’t have this problem on other servers, I feel this is the right forum to post in. I love playing on your server, so I hope you can help...

Are you sure it's only on TSGK server ? Because it seems directly linked to your connection and/or your ISP. _________________ Visit E=mc² Clan Website |

Nothing have change on these servers for more than 3 months. If you lost connection then there is a network issue between your location and the servers location. If it happend again, please tell date, time, server number and report before 24h. Then maybe we can give to you a better answer. Well, I can't be sure, but - as I wrote - I have only discovered this problem on TSGK servers and I have played quite a few. Of course this doesn't mean that it is a server problem, but it was worth a shoot as I have tried every thing else I could think of.... Maybe it is an ISP problem. I could try to write to them. Just need to figure out how to explain the problem to them... Thanx for your suggestion...

A network issue between my location and the server location might be the problem. This could explain why I don't see the problem with other servers I have tried, if the route to them is different. (The TSGK servers I have mentioned are located in France I believe...?) I will try again as soon as I'm home and then report it right away... Thank you for trying to help...

Hi, I have just tried again (01/31/07) and the result was: Resistance on XVIII at 15:45 kicked of after 9 minutes and 34 seconds Overwatch on XIII at 15:48 kicked of after just 44 seconds Killbox_BS_TSGK_v3 on XV at 15:51 kicked of after 1 minutes and 7 seconds All times in GMT +01:00 If you can find out anything I will really appreciate it...
If you're not able to do it within the 24 hour you have, I'll be happy to do again... Thanx... /Balle |

It could be a lot of reasons, the network issue between you and those servers is the most plausible reason, could you try some of our US servers too like VI, VIII, XXI... I tried the US servers you suggested and the result was: Domebox_tsgk on XXI at 17:44 kicked of after 26s Domebox_tsgk on XXI at 17:45 kicked of after 25s Killbox_tsgk_v8_rc3 on VI at 18:00 kicked of after 2m43s Killbox_tsgk_v8_rc3 on VIII at 18:02 kicked of after 43s Very strange... Network problem might be the most obvious reason. I'll try some other servers around the world and see if can find a pattern. Maybe then the problem will be easier to explain to my ISP. (Although I fear it is a dead end, but I will give it a shot anyway...) I'll pop by from time to time, just in case something shows up... Thanx for you time Osiris - It was very kind of you...
