[ TSF ] LORD DAVROS

It has been two months now since our dear friend Scottish WaRrIoR passed away and left us all here to fight it out between our selfs, passing on to a better life we hope.....

As many of you will know by now since that trrrible day which brought a tear to all of our eyes, I with the help of RAVAGE and SADIST have been working on a map that we can all remember him by.

In that time this map has had large parts completly rebuilt or altered more than three times to try and make a map that has some aspects of a few of the maps that were his favourites, also to be a tribute to the man we all knew. Not forgetting that it also needed to have good game play, good looks and keep in the tradition of a true killbox which is the type of map he used to like to play before he moved on to play DAY OF DEFEAT.

Any way on to the map and its pictures.
Firstly you will see that the roof is domed to take the dome shape aspect fron killdome, also there is a jump pad as there is in killdome. then notice how both the floor and roof are made in the shape of the Scottish flag to salute the country he held most dear.
then at one end of the map there is a tube as in dmk b6. At the other end of the map there is a down tube made from glass where you can collect health as you pass down the tube and as you look out of the tube you will se the killdome placed in a town in the skybox.

Now for the screenshots, in the first one I have taken a picture from out side the map so that you can see the general layout.
Then I have taken one from inside the box with the main tribute to Scotti behind me.
After that we have the main memorial its self which was tastfully crafted for me by RAVAGE .

Next there is the first of two rooms, each of which have three ways of getting in and out of and the rooms are situated one at each end of the map.

Here are a couple of shots of the other room which also has the entrance to the up tube in . And in the second shot of these two you will see the slope that leads into the tunnel which takes you under the jump pad and up a short ladder into the first room I showed you earlier.

I am running the map on TSF server 6 this Friday for its first public beta testing, starting at about 7 pm UK time, and will leave it running all night and most of Saturday.

I would also like to give special thanks to RAVAGE for making the custom textures ....
SADIST for helping with game play tweaking and other advice.

And finally Osiris TSGK and Captain PikPik TSGK for coming along to the private test session to assist with final advise and preparation of this tribute to a good friend of so many of us in this game.

You will be sadly missed Scotti and i hope that this map will help to keep your memory safe for years to come......

How would you feel about [007] maybe using the map on our server? I understand if the map is strictly for TSGK.

Thanks everyone for your support in this tribute. It is good to know that there are so many of you out there that have respect for Scotti.

Having spoken to fulffylittle thing and zipo tonight it is looking like we would like to get as many of the old DMK members together again on Friday when we do the beta test . So if there are any of the old DMK members that see this topic please could you pm me or post in the TSF forums here.

Also if any of you guys from TSGK or other visitors here know how to contact any of the DMK members and could either contact them or let me know how to that would be great.

We are looking to open the server at 7 pm UK time this Friday and as there has been such a good response we will also open up a second server by way of a server redirect if the primary server for this event becomes full.

We have not thought at all about what servers it will run on but think it would be good to get the test party done first to make sure that the map can go to a final version and that there are no problems with it.

I found a couple of small bugs on the map whilst looking around it so will be launching as a b2 on friday.
It wasn't much really only a very small alteration Very Happy

Really good map. I think that Mark would Love the map and Since its a killbox with awesome Framerate and Amazing design....it would be the best gift. Well done guys.

Liked the map alot, fast game play.
The only slight problem was the dark blue colour made it difficult to make out the darker uniform players accoss the top of the map. Where as Lord Davros in his fav white suite was easier to spot Twisted Evil

I would like to say a big thank you from my self ravage and sadist to everyone who came to play the map and pay their respects to Scotti tonight.
It was a great success and for a time we almost needed to open up a third server as there were so many players looking to join. Two servers packed with players for almost two and a half hours is really something and I think Scottish WaRrIoR would have been really pleased to see so many people remember him.

I will run the map on one of the TSF servers for the next week or so so that it can be thoroughly played and checked for any glitches or poor placements. After that I will do a last compile and release a final version.

Once again thanks to everyone for coming And I am glad you all liked the map and had a good time....

Cracking map. It was ace seeing so many players in there especially the guys wearing the DMK tag.

IMO you guys should get together one night, wearing your tag and have a big family picture taken under the Memorial screen in the map.

A fitting tribute to a nice guy. Well done.

The b3 version is now out for this map guys. at the moment its on tsf 6 as was the launch .
Couple of bugs fixed and some weapon and pick up placements have been moved to better positions . Very Happy

Hey guys ,,, Just thought I would let you all know that the beta 4 has now been released on the TSF and TSGK servers .

The differences are slightly different colored glass platform .
the bottom of the down tube has been raised up slightly to make it a bit more obvious that its for going down not up.
one 357 has been removed
and another 357 has been swapped positions with the X bow which was up on the platform beside the down tube.

Thanks to Osiris for his help in spotting this minor inbalancing of weapon placements... Cool
