How was the gamecube more powerful than the ps2?

Gamecubes surely couldn't run any GTA title, and as for being rehashed the ps2 and ps3 are night and day when seen from an exploded view, the Wii on the other hand is literally a beefed up gamecube.

In my honest opinion the console wars are won judging on who forces the least amount of paid DLC on their consumer.

Im no console hater or something like that, but since xbox 360, and ps3 release, consoles screwed pc gaming/market...

they develop games for the consoles, and do shitty ports for pc....
ive tried some demos, of games released on all 3 platforms, and the demo for the pc was ridiculously badly developed.... running at the console default res, wich lead to resolution distortion, if not suported, would run at the 4:3 default TV aspect ratio.. no menus/options to change graphic or control settings....... i mean, wtf?!?!?

i play a lot of GTA 4, and im lucky i have a logitech rumblepad 2 controller, wich is really similiar to ps3 controller, the game doesnt allow any customization!!!! wtf?!... u either choose xbox config, ( u even get the xbox controller picture in menu, show wich button does what...like microsoft is expecting pc users will get their xbox controller.....) or, you have an option, that says, classic config.... lucky it works just like the ps3 controller keys ( 1 friend of mine have it for the ps3) and so my pad works nice, and i like that config...

And then, i really really hate GFWL.... and im not buying any more game that have it.... well, maybe i will... but i realy dont want to.. lol.

I really dont like the developers attitude, they just see money in front of their eyes, they dont even bother to change or make able to change resolution in a xbox/ps3 title that is ported over pc.....

And i hate exclusives to...... i want Virtua Figher on the pc.... or tekken...
Why no one makes a decent fighter for the pc?!?! SF4 ?? its nice... but no tnx.. or even soul calibur...would be nice.

Spectrum programmers could use all its hardware to maximum.....
nowdays they use maybe 50% at most, of current hardware potencial....
i mean, i bought quake 2 on steam, its old, and u can see it, but it only needed a a pentium 133/166mhz, with an 8mb video card..... and looks awesome.

we have now dual cores, quad cores, tons of gigaherthz..... gfx with 1GB mem... etc etc... and i need 4 (four) GTX480 or hd5870 to run crysis or metro 2033 maxed out, with a decent 60fps.....

Consoles just ****ed pc gaming development.... even crytek surrenders to consoles...

Steam ftw!! Smile

Cheers

This may come to a surprise to you but the gamecube could pull off some amazing graphics. Only 2 games I know showed off what the hardware could do XD.

It's funny I only got a gamecube for the resident evil games 0,1,2,3,4. (2,3 look alot better than PS1 versions)
I really like the old resident evil games. Very Happy

The textures are very detailed up close but better on a TV than youtube though Wink

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles was the game that made me get a Wii, plus wii plays gamecube games to so thats cool.
The story/fun/feeling in Darkside was way better than crap Resident Evil 5 lol.

Ok I see now, the gamecube beat the ps2 by an amount of megahertz seemingly invisible today, I remember my buddy basing out on resident evil for the cube, and it looked good.

But now that I know the cube had more power I can't help but think how the gamecube was wasted, nothing looked good to me except the metroids and resident evil, I never did try resident evil.

Mostly I agree with diet though however when you have a house full of friends it's not like were going to break out 6 or more capable PC's and game out together short of a LAN party.

Yeah was thinking the same why don't the other games look as good as resident evil 0 and 1.
I do recommend resident evil 1 (remake) it did make me jump and lots of "oh shit" and true fear.

E.G. when you shoot a zombie the body stays on the ground for along time. If you don't come back
and burn the body later on the zombie will wake up if you get near it. Picture a hole room full of
bodys and one or all could wake up at any second. Also it will not walk after you but run at full speed and is
harder to kill and looks alot scarier, o.0 oil for the lighter is limited, game saves, ammo and life.
You can't look around corners, music and sounds is creepy. Twisted Evil

My brother won't play it at night with lights of, sound up on his own.
They don't make survival games like that or are scary anymore. Confused

Some games consoles are the way to go Wink
P.S. Gamecube console £10 ebay lol
