Had a run in with someone appearing to hack the server rcon on XII just now http://hl2mp.tsgk.com/index.php?mode=playerinfo&player=764400 added my console from the encounter

Hi, Just patched what may have been the problem, not sure yet if it was the method used in that case, but will at least reduce the damage caused by this kind of exploit if it happen again. Yes, could be it, we did immunized our servers against it (at least against taking the admin power), it is a source engine exploit, tell the server operator to turn sv_allowupload off: sv_allowupload 0 Unfortunatly this will disallow the usage of the players spray but is the only way to protect the server against this, radical solution. Another solution, to avoid sv_allowupload 0, but would require a minimum of server administration knowledge, is to CHMOD all the cfg files to 444 and clients.txt of mani-admin-plugin (and prolly a couple of others files) if installed (for a linux server), or turn the files to read only for a windows server.
