I can't place these in any order, but these stick out in my memory

Bubble bobble Atari ST 2 player (didn't have online then Rolling Eyes )
Manic Miner Spectrum 48
Donkey Kong Arcarde Game about 20 yrs ago Shocked
Halflife
Halflife 2 online pc
Wolfenstein PC (just finished single player, VG)
Tomb Raider
Thief
Quake
Doom (1st pc game played)
Unreal
Any Tom Clancy game such as rainbow 6, Ghost recon, Splinter cell etc

Basically any good FPS single player game for me since the PC became affordable.
Halflife 2 is the only game i have played online
There's quite a few Spectrum games that come to mind, but probably not worth mentioning them as a lot of you where still in nappies and didn't use one

nice one, good taste in thy games, shenmue rocked Sad am so sad they didn't go forward with the original 12 game saga. Streets of rage is epic. can't wait for perfect dark port to xbox live with online multiplayer, that is going to be insane.

Am not that big a gamer, but among my favourite games are (no specific order):

1 ) Half Lifeē + Episodes + Deathmatch
2 ) Half Life
3 ) Command and Conquer: Red Alert
4 ) Diablo I but especially Diablo II
5 ) Tomb Raider II
6 ) Counter Strike 1.6
7 ) The Sims (all)
8 ) Left 4 Dead II
9 ) Mass Effect
10) Quake III

Nr 8 & 2 are super recent, so not sure if they will still be on the list in a couple of years, but they are for now Razz

I never got to play consoles much Sad Mario Party and Mario Kart are fun though. And when I was super young I loved Jungle Strike but can't even remember that properly Razz

Edit: wtf am I on, not nr 8 & 2, I meant nr 8 & 9 o_O

Iīm playing super mario bros. 3 currently. games used to be hard, I die up to 20 times in some levels. how were kids supposed to beat this? the only mario game I ever beat so far is super mario land 1 for the gameboy.

my list would be (counting by series not just single games):
final fantasy series (PS,PS2)
gta series (PS2, PC)
half life 2 series (PC)
gran turismo series (PS,PS2,PSP)
metal gear series (how come you didnīt include this gtamike?) (PS,PS2)
legend of dragoon (PS)
grandia 2 (might play 3 some time) (PS2)
burnout series (PS2, PC)
breath of fire series (PS, PC)
call of duty series
that would be 10 series that I could think of right now, could have forgotten something.

some older games:
wario world 1 (gameboy)
terranigma (SNES)
zelda: links awakening (gameboy)
harvest moon (gameboy color)

In the Playstation 1 days I liked the Syphon Filter series more.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdkGSPcMTo0

But I really liked Metal Gear Solid 4 for Playstation 3.
It got lots 10/10 reviews so I picked that one up at the time and really pleased I didn't miss out on it. (No CGI in the game all ingame graphics)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzHZL_YiBy4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r83H7ry2LiY

I was going to add Uncharted 2 for Playstation 3. (Crash bandicoot developers) but would need bigger game list XD.
So far it has 38 game of the year awards 2009.
(also the game is 25GB and no loading times in levels)
