the free fall |

I've discovered (hopefully) a new glitch.. sometimes being alone on a server helps!
Basically u take a leap of faith (aka jump) holding an object and as you approach the ground (aprox 1.5 ft, but really depends on the grav), you let go of that object; your model kinda slows down a bit (this is the glitch) and it's like the jump just started, cus you take no damage no matter how high you jump from. Can be a life saver if your health is <=10 (this wasn't tested on real damage settings, but those are rare) and no health pack to grab or land on
I'll prolly add a demo tonight, feel free to try it and tell me what you guys think
Oh, another safe landing (which works better in lower grav) is to make circles upon landing, or go sudden left/right multiple times. Kinda hard to describe, but the point is to prolong flying as much as you can and surveilling the area like a plane to avoid abrupt landing )

Do it from the very first moment you jump, it keeps up your move speed (rather than losing directional momentum as you go up) in the air and makes you alot harder to hit. Kinda like running in circles but doing while you in mid air.

well d'oh, I already do that, but unless I exaggerate it upon landing, I get damage

I think u just have to learn when to let go in different gravity settings, just like learn how to over bounce?

While I have never grabbed a phys object before hitting a ramp or some such thing (I play mostly killbox) or jumping from a high place, I always look for a physics object on the ground when I realize I have <10 health (which usually happens on the way down ). When (if) I find one I frantically try to grab it and throw it to the ground. Most of the time I die, but every now and again I live. Good times and always a surprise.
Soz for not adding anything to the conversation, but cheating death is always

Well lately I've been playing kbx too and here's a hint I'm sure some of us know already: try jumpin towards healthpacks.. even if u do have <10 health, if u grab it before landing (or land exactly on it), u'll live Or throw a nade in the packs direction, but that works mostly horizontal and I for one need dumb luck to get that to work )
But the hpack grabbing is the best one yet, whether u jump with a pack in ggun or jump towards one
Heh, guess I'm going offtopic on my own thread ) But it's still in concordance with the title

This got me thinking, if you have 10hp left and land on someones head would you die or live?

Mike, that only depends on the speed and height D'oh
@Lawitz, what results? If u mean the vertical nading, ok, will try it tonight. Been lazy and selfish this weekend, played all day, no work, no vids and no training

OK, I've uploaded 2 demos in 2 different maps/grav/objects/distances And I think I got the hang of it.. The trick is to actually jump boldly into an arc looking down at the object (and not just step down and fall vertically) and the glitch is because u touch the object under u (which just started falling from your ggun) and kinda stop into it, reduce speed and sort of restart the jump. COOL
The vertical nading doesn't work for me, the hpacks barely jump.
As for landing on someone's head, I think it's obvious that it equals landing on any platform at the level of the player's head. Mike was just pulling my leg, but.. feel free to prove me wrong, guys )

Lol, you can use this idea to jump further also. If you are travelling at a good speed while holding an object at a certain angle, you can let go of the object near the end of the jump so it falls under your feet (still in the air). This allows the player to run along the object and get a bit further
