Don't Google it, Bing it! |
|
Microsoft's new search engine, www.bing.comis a touted as an alternative to www.google.com
Now normally I wouldn't be suggesting that peeps should use the behemoth Microsoft over other companies but bearing in mind that Google has 87% of search engine usage it's no harm they face a bit of competition. Bing uses predictive search techniques which is claimed will provide more relevant results.
Looking at the comparisons below... perhaps there's merit in giving Bing a try - who the hell is the shy********?!

First thing that put me off Bing was that it looked like Google dressed up in a new shiny coating. I mean the search page, the way it shows results, everything!
My dad's arguement was 'look at the pretty background picture', my arguement was that I had Google themes setup to bring em a nice new theme every time I visit google.
Then again I just went my the look of Bing (Not by the way it worked) and disliked the way it mimicked google, though if the search functionailty is different I may take a look. I think i'll be sticking to google for a bit though.

Yeah, but that's fine for home use m8. In the job I could have some user who uses google images to view porn. No big deal to be sure. Except that they're using google images to bypass our filters and if we let this go on it could be only a matter of time before one of his colleagues sues my organisation for sexual harrassment and cites how we allow sexually explicit material on our IT systems.
What I'm saying is that I don't care what someone does with the internet in their own privacy (so long as it doesn't involve crime of course) but in a work environment you have to be ultra conservative.
Having said all that, I tried (but I didnt try very hard) to see how Bing deals with videos and I could not find an example of a porn video being previewed so maybe they have amended it.
