Steam Doesnt work |
|
I've started my pc just now and Wanted to log Into steam , but it Fires up an error that says:
Code: |
Could not connect to Steam Network.
Either the Steam network is not currently running, or your internet connection is down.
Please check your internet connection and try again . |
Any thoughts?
Edit : As it seems im not the only one having the problem.

I had that the other day (Well about 2 Weeks ago). It happened when I accidently pulled the power cable out the back of my PC .
Starting the PC back up, though my internet and everything else was fine, Steam just refused to connect, no matter what I did. It even brought up that silly update loader but it never updated then brought up exactly the same error.
In the end I had to compeletely Delete Steam off my computer and reinstall it all. It worked fine after that and has done since. Might be an unrelated problem though.

If you can get steam to launch in the offline mode, you can try connecting from there. If it does connect, you will find it is normally ok after that.
If not, you can also try a system restore and roll the computer back a few days and if you are lucky that might work but it depends on the nature of the damage.

It happened to me about a week ago.
Steam updating 0% for 5 mins hmm.
I turned my connection off then back on and that did the job. (some how lol)

Try deleting clientregistry.blob, as that fixed this problem for me.
