Thats a nice review!

I had the G5 to, i couldnt get used to it because of the wheel... i just wish it had the same wheel as G3, would be my perfect mouse. lol.
They seem to have the same wheel, but they dont. i think its because of the tilt function. it completly ruined it to me on the G5, as i use the middle mouse button (wheel) to jump in any FPS, when i used it in hl2dm was complete mess to my brain, and i missed the button lots of times, i pressed tilt instead or something, it had, like, 2 clicks, if i pressed it slightly, it wouldnt jump, so i had to keep pressing it to do the 2nd click, then i could jump in game. you know what i mean?.. it was like, having to 2 buttons/2 clicks, or 2 layers, but just in 1 button. so i had to press it twice to jump instead of just one time.. its hard to explain....
So, every new mouse now, have that tilt function... wich really doesnt work for me.

I also have tried the G9, from a friend, it was just bizarre... no thanks.. lol. and way to expensive.

There is also this new G300, the most recent one:

G300, and G400 seems to have the wheel just like the G3. G500 is a not an option for me cause of the wheel, or it would maybe, be my perfect mouse. i also like the weights, i like heavy mouse to. but this thumb buttons layout on the G300, meh... i really want that on the side, like G5/G500.

My G3 is so dam light, in some sames, when im using a sniper, i get spasms when trying to move the mouse just 0.5 cm to snipe some 1, i end up shooting the tree next to the target.. lol.

Cheers

you won't get the 1000 mhz polling, nor profiles, nor the colored lcd controls, nor the mapping of mouse keys. It's very aggressive in manipulating your basic windows mouse settings.

my G9 is now broken after 4 years or so of usage, the left mouse button is worn out. As a replacement I got the Steelseries Sensei mouse and the Steelseries 4HD mousepad. http://steelseries.com/products/mice/steelseries-sensei ( pictures: http://steelseries.com/products/mice/steelseries-sensei#pictures ) it is one of the best gaming mice at the moment, a good step up from the G9 for me. I use it on 5700dpi.

there are other new mice that are very good, for example the Zowie AM:
