About
Hi, after just over 3 months in development the map is out. The map is set in a factory you will see machines moving crates to different areas of the map. There are open crates with items in, also none open crates around the map that can be used to take cover behind.

Design
The map design is like the unreal maps from the games. My friend did some concept art for me the rest of the map I made up. Here's the Concept Art http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/8025/conceptartaf5.jpg. I've also used the full design detail limits aloud in a soruce map. The custom textures are double the size of the valve texture resolution in HL2. Each texture also has 2 types of render spec map and normal map.

The Trap
As you may know I like to add super changer traps in my maps. This one is based on the Resident Evil 1 film The Lazer Room.

Graphics Card
For this map I recormend GeForce 8600GT or another gaming card that is 512mb or higher only if you want to play with max Video Setting. Other cards can run the map fine but you might have to lower your video settings like set render to low to get a better frame rate.

The map looks really nice and well crafted. When we tested this on sunday we had about 8 players and i spent a lot of time looking for the players as the whole area is very big.
This map will never be a high frag session due to its size, personally i feel that some of the rooms could be made a little smaller, but then it wouldn't be called unreal factory Laughing
As mike has mentioned that a high quality graphics card is needed to enjoy the full graphic quality, i managed an average of 40fps through out the session and this was plenty enough to be able to play smoothly.

Nice work mike and ty for bringing us another map to keep hl2 interesting

I had the pleasure of playing this map with Mike and some others tonight and I think it's great. Nice textures and details and of course traps and secrets. And the screaming of the stalkers gave me the creeps.

I didn't measure my FPS, but it ran smoothly on my GF8800GT. I'm looking forward to the public test.

Ok had a little play.

This part of the map I like most.



The textures are really nice in this map, I really like the machinery and attention to detail. I got a little lost but only my first go on the map after all. Let us know mike what servers this becomes available on! Also the sounds I like, really adds something to the atmosphere. One word : BOOSTER!

looks really nice but running through the map I couldn┤t grasp yet which path goes where and how they are connected so its very big.

TEAMMATES!!!!

activated the trap on me and I got chopped in half. Nice...... Razz

Uber cool, nice work mate, can't wait to see this popping up on public servers, though the map is big (File size big), it didn't take me long to download. Probably varies from server to server though depending on DL rate.

This was the atmosphere music I was thinking of adding to the start of the map load. It didn't make it to the map but here it is anyway, it is interesting and fills Sci-Fi. Cool
