How do you aim with the Mag?

Do you just stand and shoot (No B'hopping)? Or do you you B'hop while shootin?

Just a general question, but I'm really interested in how people aim with it,

for me, its bunny hop, halfway through jump aim....at lowest point (crouch) shoot.

This i always find most effective for headshots, I also do this technique, while heading for the right, most of the time. If I follow the same technique for heading left, I find I barely get a hit. Any suggestions o_0

If im able to get a shot off while standing still ill do it.

If im under attack ill do the flying bacon maneuver (or b-hop as some of you call it) and hope for the best Laughing

I either shoot while hopping, and never hit anything, or more likely shoot whilst running for better accuracy. Standing still would probably mean death unless over long distances.

But I'm more of a crossbow man myself Wink

I aim while running and jumping around, I rarely stand still. But I don't b-hop Smile (never, actually Embarassed )

and I know exactly what you mean by heading into one direction and aiming - I also have my direction, and when I try to do it into the other, I FAIL! Laughing

I aim while I bhop, in the jump i aim (in air), shoot and then continue the bhop.
If you stand still your an easy target so never stand still and if you walk/run in straight line your also easy to get hit.
With bhop your harder to get hit and you can escape easier.

Conclusion: BHOP FTW

For my part, I shoot while bunny hoping and speedskating, aiming a bit on the side of the target if it moves fast. I will only run with the colt like an human if the opponent is really good with the .357, it's easier to avoid bullets.

Well for me set a good mouse sensitivity set anything too fast will make head shots alot harder or even impossible. Bunny hoping will mess up your aim if trying to get a head shot, only because you have to move your mouse about alot to bunny hop right. Sprinting and trying to head shot can be done but normal running will give you a higher chance of a head shot. Also bind "toggle_zoom" I only use this is a player is too far away to get a good shot. And last have a good crosshair there's some good crosshairs Here http://www.bullseyecrosshairs.com/hl2sites1.shtm I use this one

This is what I do I find getting head shots easy Cool but the mag is my favorite weapon. Wink

oh you are saying am spamming too Sad

well best mag aiming is when you bhop, you just feel the motion and in mid air between hopes is the best time to shoot. but if the server is even a bit laggy, it's hell to aim...

I aim in the general direction and shoot. It's always a nice surprise when I hit someone.

I always bunny hop when shooting the mag, can't imagine standing still would help much to be honest Confused

I try to track the player I'm aiming at before I shoot them, e.g. get the xhair to follow their movement, and when its lined up, BOOM.

This thread has made me want to play dm now.

I find the best method is to track the players movement with your own, so rather than using the mouse to aim, you use jump, strafe and duck to line up the shot, then use the mouse for small corrections or head aiming.

Kbh is a mag training map for sure you need that open space to find a good way to shoot. Some of the best aimers on dm come from that map.

Thats exactly how I do it, I've been playing around with my mouse sensitvity recently trying to find a good combination.

That's how I aim as well. I have my mouse sens a little higher than I should, but it works pretty well for small, quick adjustments. It also explains why I can't aim for crap when I stand still unless I really take time to line up my shot.

Or maybe I'm just so used to playing inebriated that I can't cope with the speed of my non-drunken hand Laughing
