After crashing to desktop and getting the send error to microsoft, it then gave me more information

Problem caused by Half-Life 2 Game Engine

This problem was caused by Half-Life 2 Game Engine, which was created by Valve Corporation.

Microsoft has been unable to contact the manufacturer and has no further information available at this time.

Recommendation

this happens to me quite often Sad

and often when map changes, nearly everyone on the server crashes o_O

and it always says it's that stupid engine Confused

I remember when I first played half life 2 and got to the end of the game, BOOM then the gman was talking then my screen went black. Shocked

I lost ingame picture but not sound gman still talking. Laughing

I fixed this problem by updating my graphics card, I guess my card didn't like the end cut scene, Rolling Eyes

also it fixed crashs. Wink

Yeah. I don't pay attention to it anymore.
Like Illyria said it's usually at the end of a map on a full box.
Luckily its a soft crash and I just restart DM and Im back in about 30 seconds.

Of course according to microsoft any crash is not caused by any windows component Laughing

My computers upto date, only got it last week

I just thought i would entertain you with microsofts answer - If you are unable to fix this problem and continue to receive errors, you can also remove Half-Life 2 Game Engine.

Well if we take the genereal concensus of HL2 University Friends Group, (that has pretty much every regular HL2 player on there) then that would amount to about $2000 so I don't think they would

What I don't get about Valve is that if you look at Steam Forums, the HL2DM forum probably is the most used Sub-Catagory on there out of all the games. Rolling Eyes

*shrug* I crash in multiple ways - stuck in middle game - crash to desktop, stuck, computer shutdown, also not stuck but just suddenly crash, then computer says 'windows is shutting down' and once I had a random restart while playing ^^ they get more creative every day
