I want to have a ferret at home for a change since I used to have dogs before. What are your thoughts about this animal? Also, do I need to buy a ferret cage to ensure that he will have a place wherein he can run, play, and rest? I need to ensure that he won’t mess with my apartment.

I was thinking about getting a ferret too, or even a couple of them. They seem like such cool pets. The only thing that I'm not sure about is how well can you train them. Are they closer to cats or dogs in that regard?

The brother of an ex gf of mine had ferrets. They were pretty cool but they tend to smell. They have some kind of glands on their faces or something which emit the odor. I don't think most people realize this when they get ferrets as pets.
