Which Videogame monster freaked you out the most? |
|
It was back in 1997, I was 14, The Crazy monster that kept me up at night was the Butcher from Diablo 1. He was one of the bosses in Lvl 2.
The room he was so freaky! It was full of dead bodies! ... opening the door meant the pain is coming, you heard him say... "Ahhhh! Fresh Meat!" then he'd come after you with a big cleaver.... ahhhh! the nightmares!

Same here, man. When I saw my buddies first encounter with the Butcher we both nearly pissed ourselves. The ensuing slaughter that he doled out didn't help things, either . I can still remember his "AHHHHH!!!!!!!! Fresh meat!" and I only heard it twice, and 10 years ago. Pretty freaky stuff and pretty harsh for someone who was used to the likes of Sonic and Mario.

I can't remember if it was doom 1 or 2. Big open space with towers and this big round monster floating around the sky blowing fireballs at me, this on its own wasn't much but the music combined and having played for hours, nervers where well tingling

Re-deads from Zelda OoT on the N64 freaked me out back when I was around 9 or 10. In the tomb where you learn the sun's song I thought "Hey, dozy brown monsters- easy!". Confidence quickly shattered when the thing turns round, screams and paralyses Link before hugging him to death.
More recently HL2's fast zombies were incredibly scary first time around but now they don't bother me at all...

I think it was back in 2007 when I was 10 and I just bought fear and those faces kept popping up with blood all over them, and of course the fat zombies from hl2 the way they chuckle...

Its not easy to decide between this guy and Diet.
Both tend to chase and scare me ingame.

lol
I don't really get scared much by games.
But in Bioshock there's this point where you are searching a cabinet in an empty room. When you turn around there's a Splicer just standing there in your face doing nothing. It freaked me and I immediately hit out with the wrench.
Funny thing is that afterwards I reloaded the previous savegame just to see if the splicer would do anything. But each time, I still got a fright and just couldn't help killing him. I tried not reacting 3 times in a row but gave up cos I couldn't stop myself killing him. Weird. Funny. Mildly disturbing. Boo!

I liked the scene in FEAR, where you are standing at the top of a ladder. You're turning to climb down and suddenly this little girl stands in front of u. You think: "spooky, but that was it". So you climb down, and when u turn down at the end of the ladder there is *again* this girl in front of you (or his other ghostly appearance). I really didn't expect it, very well designed scene!
There is only one monster where i really always jump: BSOD.

does the navigator head count?
i think this little girl in f.e.a.r scared me the most untill now.. or some good scenes from doom 3 when you just look behind an edge which is completly dark and you see 2 eyes glowing shortly before a big monster jumpes out
