the steam friends overlay doesnt work anymore for me. in the beginning it worked, my kaspersky antivirus asked me if I wanted to allow gameoverlay and I allowed it and it worked. but after a few days it didnt work anymore. I set the key combination to other keys but it wont come up. when running the game there is also no gameoverlay running in the processes. when I manually click the .exe it won´t start as well. how do I make it work again?

I've finally found the issue. It was Kaspersky's fault, so if some of you still can't chat in game and use Kaspersky, just enable Compatibilty mode for programs using self protection methods then restart the computer.

Hope it will helps you.

I have Kaspersky 7, and this is in the first window when you acceed to the config, in Compatibility.
If there is not an option called Compatibilty mode for programs using self protection methods try to find it somewhere else in the config window.

See also in the trusted zone if you do have Steam.exe.

there is no such thing as "compatibility" in the options.
anyway I closed kaspersky and it still wont open. so the problem must lie somewhere else.
