I stick to Intel since the one and only AMD CPU I ever had used to be more a heater then a processor. Was comfortable to have warmed feets over the winter months but not really an alternative to the almighty Intel Products.

Good thing on AMD is that they prevent Intel from getting a Monopol, hold low prizes and every new AMD Product forces Intel to lower them even more.

The day may come once when AMD will become a real concurence and alternative to Intel´s Top Processors but its not today and it will need slightly more then the "Barcelona" to set Intel under pressure in any way.

I think its not worth a further discussion and even yourself just used to order a Intel Core2Duo feel free to praise AMD, Intel or Hamsters for inside computer usage.

Only stated my personal opinion and experience about/with AMD. I doubt we would be qualified for further discussions about "CPU Architecture" since im not working for Intel and you are not an AMD Engineer as far im concerned.

For me personal AMD plays no important role actual and all ever seen Benchmarks support me with this opinion. Lets wait until "Barcelona" comes finally out and we will see it neutral benchmarked against the most actual Intel Xeons.

Intel just announced to stop the production of their 1st QuadCore Processor since they have plenty of different models meanwhile. It seems their 1st Quad will disappear from the product list even before AMD managed to bring their first one. I wouldnt be even surprised to see Intel Octa-Cores before "Barcelona".

The "Core-Race" is still lost for AMD btw. since Intel showed up with a working 80CoreProcessor Example some time ago at the IntelDeveloperForums.
