Sli is a pile of crap, dont bother Smile Crysis will run on maximum gfx with 340 8800gtx so i think one 720mb or 1gg 8950 will be more than adaquate for a year or two Smile That will out run the ps3 and xbox easily

Buy a cheepo and cheerful gfx card with no use of system memory. SLI is a a load of crap as the master said. Tomorrow it will all be out of date. It is a conspiricy to get you to part with your money.

Two cards 2x the heat 2x the problems. Twice the cost.

I think they are all in it together. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

amd fanboy. Razz
calm down breen, donīt make the mistake most newly rich people make: spend too much without thinking.
if you can afford 4 of those gpus it would be better to invest in a big screen, sli is not worth it nor is crossfire except for really high resolutions. I got myself a 23" widescreen which is a lot better than a 19", I can see more around me in hl2dm now and in programs like photoshop you can profit a lot from the extra space. you could get an even bigger one too.

and btw. a watercooling is recommended for silence of the cpu and gpu. especially stock gpu coolers can be as loud as hair-dryers. and donīt expect better air cooling for the gpu would be much more silent, they are all really loud.

okay

I play with low settings, DirectX 7, and a res. of 640x400

with my current shitty hardware

anyway, Opti, you may be probably right, but the 9 Series may be less power consuming?

also, Q2/3/4 of 2008 will be the Octa-Core tech, 45nm technology

Yummy.

LCD is the future for gaming, probably, but it sucks for competitive gaming

Every team has been whining about CPL's move-on to LCD monitors

I personaly dont like plasma screens, i cant see a shit if the lights are turned on :p

Careful of the response time. The bigger the monitor the slower the response time.

Wait

Also, AMD is launching their last X2 processor

the X2 6400+, according to numerous benchmarks, it beats intel's E6750 and also beats intels E6850 aswell.

Heil AMD!
