Anyway, have any of you ever had a time when you got in the grove and did better than usual?

Might as well ask if anyone's ever done a lot worse than regular (Like, gone in and come out down points Embarassed

Has happened to me a few times)

firstly, hello and welcome to our lovely forums. very nice of you to drop by.

as for performance, i totally relate mr dude. As with any other game you get your good days and your bad days. some days you are on fire, as in every single shot coming out of ur x bow hits, and some days you suck like crazy. unless you are the great might PikPIk Razz

he never has bad days... Last I heard he grafted a usb interface to his hands and started playing matrix style!

ok that's pushing it.

Welcome to the forum

Some days on fire. Last nigh was having a good seesion, gained 2k points lifting me to my highest ever rank. Then went onto server x and after Stoncabbage and nextzone left had a very enjoyable 1on1 with Knife. I totaly expected to be completely wasted by him, as he's a far more experienced player but managed to get a reasonable score Cool

But on other nights i will loose loads of points. In the past i've logged of in total annoyance, but now i find after a quick coffee i manage to pull through the bad spots.

But when i'm tired i can't play this game at all. V bad

Definitely. Some days everything just clicks into place and people fall by your feet. A week ago on one day, I managed to get a kpd of 3, which is very good for me. Others are pretty average and yeah sometimes I just plain suck. Missing easy shots, fumbling with keys, you name it. It's a rollercoaster of success (or not) for sure. Razz

I think it all depends on tiredness, the other people playing, your bloodlust and connection (I lag too much Mad

For me the first 15 minutes are always the worst... always need a lilbit of time to get my reflexes ready. I think those good strikes (like they claim to have in Basketball) are just by chance, at least for me.

And "bad" phases occur to me much more often than really good ones... and both may have the effect that i tend to play sloppy. As Xenon said, it's a rollercoaster...

It's the beautiful 'zone', every movement and shot is deliberate and perfect. I find it's normally triggered by a good kill. Your confidence goes up and your senses are heightened.

After a game of being in the 'zone' I feel wrecked. Twenty minutes of full concentration takes a lot out of me (seriously). I generally need to leave the game for a break.

I call it "adrenaline rush". sometimes I have it and I play a lot better. the time it lasts can differ. sometimes its just 1 round, sometimes all the time in the day I play.

Well, if you have the feeling you are becoming a reasonable player, change half your binds so you can try to learn to bunny hop Sad

The past week, I was getting killed by any player carrying anything resembling a weapon but I think I'm on the way up again now, even getting the hang of that bunny hop a bit, thx a lot Knife, Cabbage, Nex7one, Crazy Steffen.

When I'm doing especially bad in the killboxes, I go to servers VII or XIII and do some lockdowing or overwatching and have a deep dark voice say I'm god like or sometimes (VERY sometimes Wink

)even that my shit is holy Surprised

After that I can put up with trying very hard not to get a negative KPD on servers I or II.

Anyway, you learn the most from your bad spells I suppose.

Ah yes, I have these good Hl2 moments. They are very rare occurring though, My computer is terrible so... I guess when I'm not lagging I am 100% at my best! Very Happy

When My cpu isn't lagging me and I'm on a kill streak usually I get up to unstoppable before getting a grenade tossed at my face.
