I did the treatment myself, of course, after medical advice.
His creatinine levels was 264 ( values suposed to be 20-50... acording to the measures here)
He recovered with subcutaneuos serum, 100ml each day, 50 in morning, 50 at night. and something for his gastric condition that i cant say the name, so he could eat and stop vomiting. that was pretty much it, added a specificl renal diet, and he is fine for now.
He didnt do the dialysis, cause i and my parents didnt want him inside the cage in the vet hospital, unless really necessary, even then, most likely i will do it at home. and i dont think they do kidney transplants yet, here in portugal for the cats, where i worked they didnt.

I hope it don't grow as fast as the red eared sliders we had. We found a sucker to take the three off our hands when they were about 20 cm.
I saw them kenelled in the tropical fish shop two years later and I would not have wanted to put my hand anywhere near them _________________

lol
Well, i think it wont be a problem... ive gained a lot experience touching rottweillers and pit-bulls mouths while i was in the vet...... ( i learned a technique, of having my heart stoped for very short time...... they have such a lovely white smile!! lol)
PS- sorry im replying so late..........
i got a new habitat for the little turtle, later ill post same pics.
So, here it is.
Not that bigger (40x20x20cm) but way better than that plastic thing were it was before.
I really wanted to get rid of that. Later ill get something much better.
Now it can swim, run when scared and dive into the water to hide. overall seems much happier.

After nearly a year, here is an update on my turtles!
The turtle has grown way to fast than i was expecting!! i just watched this pics i posted b4, what a diference, the turtle wanst even 5cm long in those pics... right now its around 16cm, it tripled its size in less than a year!
So, this is my final setup for them ( yes, welcome to the new member! i got another litle one meanwhile) or, at least, hope to hold longer... if i need a new habitat, i must get a pond or something!......
Their apetite is insane..they are never satisfied!..... im still amazed with that... if i leave them without eating for 1-2 days (usually i do this once a week or so) they go crazy!!
Right now i feed them with those small shrimps/gammarus, pellets/sticks , wich are the main diet, vegetables, mealworms, they freaking love mealworms, they do anything to get a mealworm, dry fish..and some other suff i eventually have at home.
i already have no more mealworms, but i managed to get around 20 beetles from them, and they are ofcourse, mating and laying eggs! so i hope i keep a suply of mealworms for them.
thats pretty much it, cheers.

I ended up with a tank 123 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm. after about 3 years. And you are correct in thinking that they will need a pond to live in eventually.
I was fortunate enough to find sombody that had a pond and was willing to take my turtles.
I can recall driving past a pond in Liverpool late at night and having to having to avoid them on the road. So many people bought them as pets for their children when Ninja Turtles were popular on TV only to dump them in the wild when the became too big an bad tempered to keep. We now have a breeding population of red eared sliders in the UK.
Similarly, signal cray fish have also been realeased and they are having a major impact on the eco system of some waters in England.
It is not just the responsibility of the pets owners but also that of the people selling them. We now have laws in the UK which monitor the sale and ownership of potentialy harmfull non-indigenous species such as cray fish. I mention the signal cray fish specifically because a parisite they cary has almost wiped out our native population of crays.
BTW I like you tank set up a lot. You seem to have got to grips with the tank hygene very effectivley.
