Hello and a question concerning dm_killbox_tsgk_v8_rc3 |
|
Hello fellow fraggers, been around on your servers for some time now and been enjoying it very much. Just a small question on the dm_killbox_tsgk_v8_rc3 map on the TSGK Server (is that zero? or one?). Each time i connect to that server, it starts downloading the map (whatever map it is), which is not necessary (unless the number of maps on this servers is larger than my points lost to Captain_Pik_Pik). Ofc it might be just my screwed up HL2 installation, but it only happens on this server. Any ideas?
And i'm sure the "objects glued to the floor" issue has been adresses elsewhere... at least thats my excuse for not being able to pick up things when being stunstickstunned by u PureSlut. And u, Rublis. And u, Nik_Nok. You get the picture...

Only one map on that server normally, so once you have it you shouldn't have to download again.

Hi and welcome,
You may refer to the .ain file, which is a game's generated file:

THe objects arent really stuck, they arent there. A physics bug that displays the resting place for an ojbect different on the client side to the server. Which is why sometimes you see them disapear o rmove from one side of the map to the other when you pick them up. Thats it resyncing the position of the ojbect hehe. So the objects are still there, but somewhere else O_o

Thanks all for the replies and the explanation of the object synching issues.

If there is no existing AIN file specific to that map, or it was generated for an older version of that map, the AIN file ( <MAP_NAME>.ain ) is generated by the game. |
Thing is: It *always* downloads the .ain file. Just wondering: are there any NPC's on that map, some bots?
