The in-game console I mean - so you can't see what other people are saying?
My enjoyment of this game is nosediving recently because of the following types of people and their inane chatter:

1. People who have just got a free copy of HL2 and then proceed to call you a cheat and hacker.

2. Skilled players who bleat because you "steal kills" or just generally don't play the way they think you should.

Just leave me alone... I just want play in peace.

use the Filters,i think you can disable ALL the messages in it :p

Thanks for all your helpful replies - I guess I will have to go with some sort of custom workaround using masking tape and cardboard.
