My 3d Work |
|
Here are some things I've done in the past few months. Keep in mind most of my stuff is practice (I'm working to improve my 3d) so none of these are really "art pieces" per se, but I've done a piece here and there intermingled with all of the practice.
[3ds max + Photoshop]
http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/2839/entry1v49sw.jpg - Entry for a battle. The theme was Ghost Rider (that new movie)
[3ds max]
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/870/nesfinal6v34dt.jpg - a couple views of an NES controller I did for fun.

[3ds max]
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9859/3v28ax.jpg - part of a work in progress.
[3ds max]
http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/975/wip106hf.jpg - the arm of The Terminator. Modelling practice.

[3ds max]
http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/3502/3v29lh.jpg - an ipod i did to practice lighting.
[3ds max]

Hey Jack, nice work. Do you ever incorporate your 3d vectors into flash at all? Swift 3d has a great plugin that helps integrate that stuff very well with your camera rotations and lighting rotations. Take your 3d max and import them into Swift 3d and re-export them into an FLA.
What helped you along your way? Any sites in particular you used for tutorials to help in your progress?

pRiebe - No, I haven't incorporated my renders into flash. If I had wanted to do animation though, which I've done before, 3ds max (the program I use) is also well-suited for animation.
As for how I learned the program, I only looked at 2-3 tutorials to get a basic idea of what they were teaching. The majority of what I know I learned simply by trial and error. I played with lots and lots of settings to see what they do etc.
