Hi all,
was just sitting in da (the) pub an thinking, when you connect what would you like your intro theme tune to be? Rather than looking, you could tell who was joining by their jingle. (quietly) For me I would like a bit of Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" Come to think of it it would not make too bad background music for da game play. Crash, bang, explosion ... with Mark Knoffler waxin it on da old guitar.
My preferred backgound music when I'm playing is da Pogues. fast furious and good drinking music.

The Pogues kick ass Cool . As for my intro music, I'd have to go with Happy Little Boozer by Korpiklaani. There's just something special about that song ^^. Or some Parliament Funkadelic because they just kick ass.

I love this song and the start is very recognisable.

I won't pretend that I am familiar with some of the music mentioned. After last night's online session, "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees might be more appropriate for me.

Top tune!
I think this is a great idea - except... just imagine the lag involved every time someone joins as you download their clip! It would turn 16 man killboxes into more of a lag-fest than they already are...

For me it would have to be the intro to "That's Entertainment" by The Jam (who most of you kiddies will never have heard of...)

Perhaps, depends on length and quality of track. The S-UK chappies don't appear to have too much difficulty with She Sells Sanctuary intro. (now that's a classic - that tune turned me from speccie four eyes nerd into an uber cool (ahem) black clad Goth when I was a teen). Rolling Eyes

I would have to go with the song performed by Trey Parker the South park creator from the Orgasmo movie "Now you're a man"

Now that's comedy.

I didn't expect this thread to generate so much interest.
I too think Diets H2O's choice is about as dramatic an entrance as you can get. The theme from 2001 A Space Odyssey comes a close second. ( I think it's by Dick Strauss Johann's bro)
BrBreen did not suggest any music - a few spring to mind There are two fight scenes in Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet Act I Scene 1 and Act II Scene 3 or, Suit 5 5th. movement from Stravinsky's Firebird (The Infernal Dance)
Here a couple for petrol drum kamikazi Fraggers -
Rossini's William Tell Overture and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries.
For crow bar wielding females - The scream from "Careful with that Axe Eugene" by Pink Floyd
Finally Tchaikosky has some cool stuff like the 1812 Overture

And

The Dance of the Sugar Plumb Fairy

The Dies Irae from Verdi's Requiem would also be bad ass. Slow Ride by Foghat would be pretty cool, too.

There are so many that I would want!:

"O' Fortuna" by BOTCH, it's the same as Carl Orff's except it's METAL!
"Huge Gold AK-47" by the Blood Brothers
"The Time to Kill is Now" by Cannibal Corpse - starts of with the dude screaming KIIIIIILLLLLLL!
"Conduit" by Converge - the sing along part where everyone and their mother is screaming "This time it's war!"
"Come to Daddy" as covered by the Dillinger Escape Plan and Mike Patton - the "I will eat your soul" part
"Say It In Slugs" by Entombed - song is badass
"Dismembered Virgin Limbs" by Gorelord - starts of with a countdown that stutters on 6 - 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 6, 6
"Let's Get It On" by Macho Man Randy Savage - he raps...for real...it's hilarious.
"A Grand Scheme for Color Film" by Norma Jean - the part where he says "Let's break out the shotguns, we're going to town"
"A Unilateral Disgust" by Skinless - starts off with a sample from one of the Hot Shots movies that goes "War, it's Fantastic!"

Venetian Snares - Frictional Nevada

This song starts of really mellow with soft strings playing and then goes completley nuts.

It would be perfect for a deathmatch intro song.

Intro songs can be implemented using event scipts, the KC servers run a 30 second sound clip whenever me, biffjab or fyckfaco join the game, maybe its warning them of the impending sound spamming Very Happy

Hmm, I think my top choice would be The Who doing Hall of the Mountain King. Second would be Devil's Dance Floor by Flogging Molly (I love The Pogues, but I think Flogging Molly is tighter musically).

And if we're going classical, I'd go with the death metal of classical music. Mahler's first symphony, third movement (essentially it's Frere Jaques done as a funeral march).

Edit: You know, I think I'd really just go with something simple and classic. People That Are Going To Hell, The Vandals.
