Just out of curiosity I was just wondering why the tryouts are 1v1, when nearly all half life games are multiplayer.
The skill of combating many is completly different to hide and seek of 1v1?

because in a multiplayer game u could only kill the "lower skilled" players
(some people call them noobs Laughing

)

in a 1v1 u can better see the mouvement of a player, how he acts, how he aims when he is facing his opponent.. etc

in fact, a multiplayer game is nothing else than a lot of 1v1s, only at the same time Very Happy

One of the best parts about it (if you don't pass your tryout)
Pik Pik and Osiris know exactly what you need to improve after they 1v1 with you.

And they'll tell you when you're done exactly what you need to work on.

They can easily spot weaknesses or techniques we need to work on because they've done this so much.

Not to mention 1v1 is raw and unfiltered.

It's the best form of gaming.

Sometimes we can get too familiar with a killbox full of people and get what I call KBADD (killbox attention deficit disorder)

Ex.After my run with Osiris I've realized that when a player launches from a ramp he's not getting away from danger but actually an easy target if you watch closely.(I was the easy target of course)

During multiplayer matches with many people it's easy to just move on to someone else but 1v1 you have no choice but to pursue your opponent by any means nessecary.

In closing 1v1 (in my opinion) is the best training available. Very Happy

Tryouts are overrated

when i still was in this ( www.sq-gaming.com ) clan
I was the tryout man, sometimes i was agaisnt noobs, sometimes agaisnt better than noobs (i made around 20 to 30 tryouts in that clan, and the tryoutee's all sucked)

its a form of training

the veridict was: "You Suck" or "Your In"

unfourtaily no one got in :\
