hi, i have a question for killa and who ever else can do his little trick. how the heck do you keep releasing your combine ball and catching it again so you can keep it alive? i tried it but i may be because im not fast enough, is there a special teqnique? cheers

It is quite hard (to do and to explain lol, i'm at work so I can't qutie test it how I do it at home): -

You fire it (Primary Fire)
Switch from grav Gun to something else
Switch back to Grav Gun
Catch it


Do them steps real fast and you should do it. It quite a nifty trick once you learn it. The best place to practise is the long corridor in lockdown.

(Or Death arena cus the there is loadsa AR2 ammo in that map)

Ill explain it better tonight when i'm at home cus I cant do it while at work.

I can manage it when im practising , but under pressure......

when you are firing using the right mouse button, listen for the build up sound and just before it shoots out, hit your grav gun select button and hold down right mouse button.
The ball will still come out even though you are trying to change to grav gun. only problem with this technique is try listening for the right moment when some TSGK pro is trying to stick you

no you misunderstand.... i can easily catch and make a ball go fast when firing it. but killa catches a ball and runs along holding it with the grav gun and somehow releases and cathes straight away without losing it, you do this so it doesnt run out.... i just dont know how to do it....

a tip from somebody who made it:

you have to use the last weapon button others are too slow (default = Q)

and when you walk while doing it you got a better chance to catch it

you have to do the change very very fast

To be honest its pretty pointless lol (sry Killa, i know u love it =P ), I rarely use it, just quicker to fire it against a wall and catch it again, at least you know then it aint gonna go whizzing off somewhere if you do it wrong, its great for fooling players that know how to catch it though l0ol, plus it looks cool.

I have been trying to figure out how to do something similar with nades (so you can walk around the whole level with a live nade) but there to small to do it with. You can do it with nades if you like walking backwards round the whole map

if you watch killas video it shows him killing people with it... so its not pointless, it also shoes a great amount of skill.

Its easier when you walk but its easy too when you do it in the in air after your jump , you can also do this trick with any physics even grenades ! Thanks Killa for it .

okay, i created a server last night in lockdown, its fucking easy with orbs!, runing or not runing! with props and nades.. thats another thing^^

3 times harder

and dont try and do it with explosive barrels

kinda impossible

Well I've gotten this trick to work very well for me now,I can recatch my combine ball in the air,on the ground and standing still.

I have yet to do this with anything else but the orbs, the nades seem especially hard to reset (recatch) but I'll keep working on it,it seems when I try to recatch a nade I'm never pointing at it the right way.

But in order to catch your combine ball over and over you have to switch from GG to another weapon then back to GG then catch as we all know,but I use the nades as my other weapon to switch to.

I think that's my problem with not catching the nade because to recatch a nade I'm switching to my pistol then back to GG.

I cant even get speedballs to work

the ammount of lag in the server makes it harder
even if you have more than 80 ping it can get really hard to do it
and i can do it with 150 ping


also lag and low fps dont mix

The big emphasis is on timing, you have to know when the ball leaves the gun, listen for it, and know to quickswitch, because it may already be too late by the time you axually see the darkmatter.
