Valve update 12.03.2007 (bad news of course) |
|
Valve has released a new Server update today at 1h40 a.m. GMT+1
As all time, it is a mess, 28 TSGK Servers are down for now, they messed with the Linux updater on Dedicated Server, which broke all the Linux Servers.
Only TSGK Serv III still online, because it is a Windows server.
We must wait for Valve to release a patch for this handsome and well done update, hope that the patch will not be worse (This is mostly the case).
Thanks for your patience, if you haven't meet TSGK Serv III again, this is the best opportunity.
[Edit] All the TSGK Servers are back.

I feel sorry for Osiris and the server admins generally. Valve is making their HL2DM lives impossible.
We feel your pain brother.

WTF is there problem...Can they not just stop messing with our game... lets drive a train through them. it is a good thing i see nothing on the calender today though (no FFL matches no Clan fights) but still they could try and make server admins lifes easier.

I believe the fix is now available.
Funny how when a bug affects CSS as well Valve jump and fix it straight away. Wonder how long it would have taken to fix if it had just affected DM ??
Cynical... moi ????

Thay fix CSS right away cuz most of Steam community plays CS
And thay leave thayr baby Half-Life 2 DM for later on
Wish the servers will be fixed in a day or so.
Cheers
P.S.:We,all HL2DM players are feeling sorry for the admins cuz thay have to work overtime sometimes
Cheers,Valve Rulles! HL2Dm'ers Drool

Thats strange. I updated Steam & both Srcds-Servers last night (surely the Windows Version) directly and without any Errors. Only needed 2 Minutes to run the Server-Update for each Server.
Maybe the Update-Server is just overused and not more responsible in case that all wants to update. Are you sure that you used the correct Command-Line ?

Osi if it is possible you can do another map rotation on server III so it will be
more pleasant to play on it
(My favorites r the BS and v8 maps )
Then the time will run faster till the linux update

I just noticed that the update (I assume, can't think what else would cause it), deleted my clientscheme.res file from my HL2DM resource folder.
This is the file that 'colours' my xhair. Worth a check if you have a custome one installed.

i dont know how to fix the server stuff, but as for the Vid..
You can allways delete the vid that is on the hl2mp folder, delete it
open StartUpVid.txt and remove everything in there, leave it blank and save
are you sure -novid is set on the adv. options?

Pretty sure now the update has done this - just spoke to Cannon from AgC and his xhair also lost its colour.

I think nana was right, I saw he post before I launched steam, so copied my resource folder. I've put it back now, so hopefully me crosshair will be as they should be.

I love Valve ^^ such a talented bunch
If you are having problems with crosshairs just delete the FONT files in the resource folder, in both the HL2 & HL2DM folders, Steam should judt re-install them automatically (Make a backup though ), as for the No vid just put the -novid in the Shortcut Target options of the HL2DM shortcut (If you have one). My target option looks like this: -
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 320 -heapsize 512000 -console -full -novid
Can't wat to start fragging again

ahhh my bad lol
TSGK server I just came back online, noone was in it but thought i'd give it a test run, few things I noticed: -
Sounds seemed fucked (Not the Dominating ones) like picking up barrels and shooting the crossbow, some sounds just don't seem to play for me, all I can here when I fire the Xbow is it richoceting off the walls (sry 4 spelling )
Jumping about seems real glitchy, not stuttering or stuff like that, just doesn't seem as fluid as before
Might just be me, anyone else got similar problems or am i just being a dumb ass?

Well my cross hair is still fine but I think thats bcause I read the instructions that came with it and made the file read only.
Also thanks to Kc fyk Ihave managed to update my private server so thats working fine now. So I will leave it running for thouse of you who want a small game and the pass is 123 for today.
If you make your server list go alfabetical and look for LORD DAVROS private server you should find it easy . only 4/5 players max though as net not big enough to suport more at the mo.
As for the -novid it was not playing b4 the dam update so i will have to try to delete it......

Cabbage is right. Movement on server 1 is 'slippy'. There is a small delay on firing weapons. And sounds are erratic e.g. no footsteps, no charging sound on AR2.
This has made me rather sad. I think I'll sniffle off somewhere.
