I just got back playing HL2DM since my HDD crashed on me. I have been having really bad frame rate and I have my drivers installed but still low frames. Is this my computer or has everyone been feeling some slow down on the servers?

FPS is client related.
Check all your drivers.

Check your ram didnt die on you aswell. Sometimes if hard drives die its coz of a power surge, this can burn out ram too. Also if you are running a new hard drive and a graphics card that requires a direct power line from your psu, and was all replaced by someone else then make sure they have plugged it back in and isnt sharing the same cable as your hard drive. They need to run seperatly. Also download rivertuner and check the temps of your gcard. They may have even knowcked the gcard out of its bay, take it out and put back in ^^

Hope that helps

maybe this is your case, when you reinstall windows but not steam with the games, the fps will get very low even though the game works. if anything else doesn´t work try reinstalling steam.

I think your fps will be controlled by your graphics card
I had probs with slow fps till I fitted a new much powerfull card yesterday , now its way up and the whole thin runs much smoother.
Are you using the same card as b4 you blew up the pc. Shocked
