PostPosted: Sun Jan 14, 2007 02:00    Post subject:  Mousemat

I cant afford to spend €5k on a new PC. But I can afford to buy a good mousemat. My old blue one is misbehaving.

I've a logitech Mx518 (which I swear doesn't like cooking nades?!) so any advice on the best mat (and links to online shop) would be most welcome.

Thx

Diet

dude check out pete's electornics down at parnell street infront of the ugc.
they've got some gaming grade mouse matt's for 15 eurp i think. that's the minimum really for gaming mouse matt's. they come nice and big Very Happy for low sensitivity players. if you are a high sensitivity player they usually have some weird spray or wax to put on the mouse matt to make it zero friction.

i heard the razer mouse matts are quite nice

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/CART/3-/688248/-/Product.html?cur=258 this is super high end and quite expensive but... you can go for http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/842103/Razer_Mantis_Speed_Mat/Product.html
which is less expensive

or the 15 euro at petes

Of course not! It's comfort purchasing - and I need my comforts!

yes it is, I don´t think desk structures are ideal and same everywhere.
I use a hard-plastic Speedpad, prices go from 10-20€. there are better ones but this one is good and cheap.
http://www.com-pad.com/eng/produkte.html
just buy somewhere else, here in germany the cheapest is 10€ from online shops, the official website sells them for 19€.
don´t get confused by other brands of speedpad, mine is from Terratec and the only thing different is that there is a terratec emblem on it, below it says com-pad so they are all the same. just don´t forget you need an anthrazit colored one to get best results with logitech mice.

this is a list of mousepads, just google up the names, because the descriptions are german.

if you're using an optical mouse (most people these days are) then either none, or, better a blank piece of white paper. the monotony, and mat-reflectivness of it make it perfect. it's what i use, and it never lets me down, however, make sure one corner is tucked under your keyboard, or it moves with the mouse...

also, try cleaning the glide-pads on your mouse. they can get clogged with dead skin from your mouse-hand.
