E-cigs Subject description: Vaping |
|
Any smokers try vaping? I picked up a cigalike at some gas station back in '07 and ended up throwing it out. About a month ago I bought a couple kangertech Evod 2's and haven't smoked a cigarette since. Still have a full pack of Camel Menthol Silver -1 cig sitting on my desk that hasn't been touched in 28 days.

Haven't tried them but a friend finds them great.
It's not clear what the long term effects of them are as they haven't been tested (and the tobacco companies developed them!) but I reckon they must be better than cigs.
I'm still trying to give up but every time I have a drink (which isn't often) I go back on for a while. Plus, I can buy really cheap cigs where I live now which doesn't help.
I hope they invent something similar for crack cocaine - that would really help you.

Four times I tried to quit. Every time I restarted it was going to pub with mates, having a drink and end up smoking again. In the end I figured the only way to break the cycle was to condition myself not to smoke whilst drinking. Because I'd tried to quit so many times, I knew roughly what my addiction cycle was, which was 4 days. 1st day was o.k. 2nd and 3rd day really difficult, 4th day it started getting easier. By the 5th day it was tolerable and after that it's a home run.
So on my 5th time trying to quit smoking, I brought a 6 pack of beer for 4 days straight, necked the lot, got happily drunk at home albeit gagging for a cig. Not being around anyone with a pack of fags in their pocket helped. The next time I was at the pub having a drink with my friends, it was a lot easier to say no. That was about 6 years ago and I'm still not smoking cigs.

It's true that it's not clear what the long term effects are yet but I'd be willing to bet not many. Better than the 60+ deadly chemicals in cigarettes like formaldehyde, arsenic, lead etc. IMO. It's nice not to have smoke smell on my clothes too.
The crack substitute... yeah that was fourth on my list of addictions:
1: cigarettes
2: arson
3: heroin
4: crack

Fix your gambling issue (this may help reduce your brothel addiction), priority.

It's a start. Didn't want to list the other 12.
