New music Genres |
|
Whats your favourite music genre at the moment?
Before you answer...We all have tunes that we love that are played commercially and cover a range of genres at any one time.
Sometimes there are new tunes that are so different that it introduces you to a whole new genre of music that you would not otherwise listen to (or get to hear).
My first genre was Hard House / Dance (Age 12 - 16), my 2nd was DnB (16 - 21), I just currently hit on the Electro house scene, my god its beautiful (maybe to the dance / trance fans ). You would also find alot of classical guitar and piano pieces in my music collection due to my love of playing classical guitar.
Whats your favourite genres in the past, and what genre are you mainly listening to now?

According to my lastfm these are my musical preferences:
acoustic alternative alternative metal alternative rock ambient british britpop chillout dance deutsch down-tempo electronic electronica female vocalists folk funk german hard rock heavy metal indie indie pop indie rock industrial industrial metal instrumental metal nu metal nu-metal pop punk punk rock rock singer-songwriter soundtrack
Alternative supposedly being number 1 followed by rock and indie.
But these are only the stats showing the last 4 years, and I listen to a lot of other stuff when I'm not on the computer as well. But I guess it fits, all in all.
I'm also into classical music but I don't tend to listen to that while on the computer.

Classical comes from what I play, which is the classical guitar. I love alot of piano pieces too, which im trying to learn. I do try to rewrite my MP3 genre tags when I download so the download fits the genre it belongs to, as its often wrong from Itunes / Amazon / etc
I.e. Electronica just covers digital music in general, where as it can be broken down to DnB, Dubstep, Trance, House, etc. Then you can go even further like Liquid DnB, JumpUp DnB, etc depending on how well you know the particular music type...
