I'm playing hl2dm on the OB, it's a mod called half life 2 deathmatch revolution.

..the graphic seem much better then the original hl2dm but i prefer play with the older version...

played it too now.
-AK47 is a bit weird for this game, with a change in model it could fit in between the smg and the combine rifle though I donīt know the amount of damage it would inflict.
-the sniper doesnīt fit in this game, will encourage people to camp.
-there was this other dm mod that had a fully done tau gun.
-bhop is still there, no cuts in speed but you canīt immediately start another bhop, there is a slight delay you have to wait for.
-rpg with more ammo?...
-the smg looks and sounds better, though I didnīt stress test it by being shot by 3 smgs at the same time lol.
-hl2dm maps can be put in the game by replacing the dm_ with rl_ example: rl_mapname.bsp
good to see how dm would be like with the orangebox engine but irrelevant for gaming, donīt think many would play it once there are servers.

It would be nice if Valve did convert hl2dm to the orange box engine.
I would be able to do more with maps being the orange box engine SDK has more options to play with.
But till then i'll stay with the Valve version of hl2dm.

I don't see any reason you can't design maps for this on the OBSDK considering he did 2 maps already.
This guy fixed more than half of the major bugs in this game, I think with proper feedback from the community and support this could be huge.

makes for really sweet jumps as seen in this game and h2ldmpro. if you set the gravity low enough you can be in the air all the time and cross an ocean.

I'll just convert one of my maps for this mod and add the new weapons etc. I think it will be dm_lost_base but will be in 1/2 weeks time cause of college work.

gave it some more time, some fun facts I found:
impulse 82 works with this version, so you can spawn a sand buggy to drive with. its a bit glitchy like the airboat and primary fire doesnīt work but definitely better for racemaps. (edit: gtas airboat map is definitely no for this, canīt cope with the hard terrain, you need an suv for this, this is definitely to be driven on normal roads and light offroad.)
with gravity 400 the gauss cannon is good for several seconds in the air. with something even lower like 200 you can stay in the air all the time.
you can do reverse bhops with the gauss cannon, it gives you a very good speed boost, at grav 600 I could maintain 700 and reach over 1000. if you go with gravity 200 you can reach speeds of over 3300 in the air.
the bhop delay will affect movement in a fight, I couldnīt beat the big antlion here easily because whenever I needed another move the delay would kick in. in regular dm I can beat one just with the stick and 100/200, sometimes less lol.

whoooooo, thirdperson works! (type thirdperson in console) thats so awesome, this mod is definitely worth the download. I keep finding new interesting things. dm_autoroute with the sand buggy is fun, it canīt keep up at all lol. will upload some pics or a video later.

just played it yesterday,
there is movement when changing direction while strafejumping and skiing.
The aim feels very sticky, not as smooth as old dm, it feels as if my mousepad was a big jelly fish. it was a bit frustrating but hit reg was nice.
overall it feels very slow and weird... i hope they stream line the game more. but dm is always dm will <3 it regardless! not like the stupid item shop in tf2 people buying items for real money! like wtf like!
