Everybody says DM2 is dead.
Its taken three years to be a slightly less than averge player.

OMG too many beers.

If I got to look for a new game and I need a few pals,

Let it be Bioshock

Any moment now Breen will offer to buy a 4 pack subject to receiving sufficient funds into his paypal account.

On a more serious note... Steam should offer to sell credits which you can then donate to someone. It would really spur on multi pack buying.

Check out this great video of the unveiling of the Special and Uber Editions of Bioshock 2... $14,999 is a lot for a game though...

Also someone has discovered a rather secret Bioshock cameo as well... Laughing

got the game. on high settings its a bit laggy at times despite having the recommended specs. the graphics are really good looking, so much infact you canīt really make out your surroundings sometimes, especially if you dunk your head through a water stream which will happen a lot. canīt rate how good it is yet as I only played a little bit so far. probably not quite an impact as the first game since its the same concept. if you like bioshock 1 you will like 2. if you didnīt like 1, donīt bother with 2.

Yup agree with this though I'm not having any frame rate issues. Enjoying the little I've played so far but yet to try MP. Smile

The Special Edition is bloody great, what a pack! Shame it's so big it won't go on my shelves though! Laughing

what pc do you have?

Iīm running it on:
intel core 2 6400 (2x2.13ghz)
nvidia 8800gts 640mb
4gb ram (3gb useable due to 32bit xp)
directx 9 (I got windows 7 64bit but didnīt get round to install it)
500gb samsung f3

the recommended specs are:
AMD X2 5200+ or Intel E6420
3 GB ram
NVIDIA 8800 GT 512MB or better, ATI Radeon HD4830 512MB or better

its almost equal yet there are lags at times. framerate is 35-60 most of the time, when it lags it goes down to to 20s.

Fired it up today on my PC and i am impressed , how devs balanced the engine! it runs smoother than Bioshock 1 O_o With same Gfx weird...yet awesome!
I loved the First part , but the sequel is really good Smile Already Harvested a couple of LIttle sisters Twisted Evil
And the weapons! THE WEAPONS!!! Those are some awesome weapos, the 2 barreled shotty is awesome...cant wit to upgrade the clip size.

The flaws of the game are not that big , yet thay do sustane the gameplay of the first part... Nothing new ( yet ! Didnt pass the game yet , only a couple of hrs of gameplay) The Hud is a little Different and the enemies are nearly the same . But the atmosphere is once again held tight with the iron claws of awesome proportions! Very Happy Probably will be geeking it on this weekend Laughing This game is really epic and has to be in the "Must play" list. =)

P.S. Lawitz you can tweak some gfx opts like Vertical Sync , disable it, that usualy takes the fps drops for like 70-80 % of ppl having fps drops in a same game. Try that ^^ I have the same fps , probably the engine is running it like tht?

that sounds interesting. if you harvest them you will get the bad ending. obviously you could have the positive effect of harvesting and then go watch the good ending on youtube later though. I think Iīll do that too, no more saving them.

turning off vsync (first time I saw a game turn it on itself) helped a bit but there is still lag in heavy parts for example when it gets flooded.

I also had this sort of lack in the modern warfare games so I guess my pc is just not cutting it anymore on high details without temporary lag at times.

I'm running an old E6600 overclocked to 3.0Ghz, 4GB RAM, AMD 4870 1024MB GFX on Win 7 64bit and it runs sweet (everything high, v-sync on etc) as does Modern Warfare 2.

My processor is my weakest link but touch wood so far everything runs really welll at the moment. Only recently jumped off XP to Win 7 and I have to say that side of it has been faultless so far. Perhaps in my case the slightly higher Gfx RAM and RAM overall makes the difference?

You could perhaps OC your processor as theres tons of head room in the Core 2's, I can run mine much higher than 3.0 but just don't bother as I don't need any more grunt (yet). I've had it stable at 3.4 before though.

I really think u are having botleneck from your cpu lawitz.

Im pretty sure that if u overclock it, to at least 2.6ghz, you wont have those issues.

PS- another thing, about the recomended specs, in the current days, they dont mean its enough to run the game in max settings. not at all...
most of the recomended specs they anounce in todays games, are just to run the game in enjoyable way, good eye candy with decent fps. not maxed out...

PS2 - well, i forgot another thing.... lolol. monitor resolution Razz

Iīm overclocking the cpu now. hopefully Iīll reach something nice beyond 3ghz. Iīm almost done with the game though but at least I got round to do this now.

edit: I overclocked from 2.13ghz to 3.44ghz which is about 61% more cpu power.

even the overclock was not enough. in the last level I was often going 8-14fps. maybe something is wrong with my pc, I ran 3dmark06 and it gave me like half the score that I should have had. Iīll see if its fixed when I install windows 7.

That doesn't sound right m8. I run at max settings at 1920 X 1080 on my system.

1680x1050. will install windows 7 today or tomorrow and see if that solves it. had to reinstall windows xp our old laptop today so Iīm not sure if I want to install another windows today.

btw. I set the graphics to the minimum, no options turned on and the fps was still not very high, when a lot was going on it also started to fall way below 20fps.

Was hoping to be the first to report on the game but this did not pan out. I pre ordered the game from a local shop ( he has not grasped the concept of release dates yet Laughing ). I could have been playing the game a day early but he ordered me the collectors pack by mistake and I was not prepared to fork out the extra.
The game can certainly use extra computing power. I am running it on an i7 at 3.33ghz, 6gb ram, and a 1gb factory overclocked BFG 9800. I ran the original Bioshock on a 2.13gb core 2 duo and there were issuse with the likes of returning fire from a rpg gun turret. I have clocked up about three hours in single player and this has been totally faultless.
I might be slightly biased because thourghly enjoyed Bioshock but 2k have achieve an improvement something in the order of what we saw with hl and the sequel, hl2.
The game play is faster and harder and takes a bit more thought now. I could get through almost 1/2 the original Bioshock using melee weapons and plasmids only. I quickly learned that this is not a practical approach but found myself falling back on this skill frequently when the rivet gun ammo annoyingly but realistically ran out far to quickly.
The story line so far is simple and appears to be just a way to guide you through the map. The problems set are not mindboggling difficult in the early stages of the game but this might change as I progress further into the game.
The splicer a.i. has sharpend and speeded up making the fight much better. 2k have avoided the temptation to swamp you with an impossible number of foes L4D style but when they come in numbers you have a real fight on your hands. You will need to use all your plasmid/weapon combos to survive. You know its going to happen every time you harevest so stock up well on hp,eve and ammo.
Da big sissta iz a bad ass mudder ***ker so get the research in on her as soon as possible to give you the edge.

I am hopping to get in some mutiplayer in over the weekend. There seems to be 7 variants in multiplayer mode which should help keep intrest up and ensure a degree of longevity..

If you, like myself, prefer to have an actual DVD copy of the game, I saw it advertise on Amazon for under Ģ20 the other day Cool

I played the game through 2 times. once with the worst ending and once with a trainer on a speedrun with the best ending.

regarding my problem, its not been solved with windows 7 64bit. I actually scored less points this time in 3dmark. something is really wrong.

My gut reaction to this type of problem is that you have got a memory problem. Either the on the gfx card or the system memory. I have come across this before, its probably a ram chip overheating.
Try changing the gfx card first - even for one with a poorer spec.
Next change the ram in the ram slots - you see a difference in the way the fault affects the system.
I would not advise stress testing at this moment unless you are prepared for a total system failure.
