I have been forced to throw out the Deathadder because right click was totaly dead. I bought a Logitech G5 today, but could someone tell me how to use MOUSE5 in-game please? When I trigger it to get the .357, it decreases DPI and doesn't give any .357 at all
I don't have a G5 but I suspect you've mapped it using the GUI in HL2DM. You're also probably running the G5 software? If so then that software is overriding your hl2dm mouse 5 mapping. So you could stop launching the G5 software (cause probs if you like changing dpi in game or use scripts) or you could trying mapping the mouse 5 in the g5 software to key eg the letter p key. Then in hl2dm map the letter p key to the command you want the mouse 5 to be.
Oh it works! And I still can change DPIs in game. Love you man

if you like small mice I recommend the G9 without using the grips, its pretty small if you only use the bare mouse. I definitely got better when I switched from G5 to G9, much better to control due to the reduced size. _________________
til I couldn't handle all the missed clicks (almost 2 years were enough for it..) and after playing with a newer version of the same model (also was missing clicks AAAND started spinning whenever it felt like it) I realised that also my mousepad was off (some hex technology - you could stick it on the table so it won't move - mousepad which quickly wore off due to friction and every mouse would slide on it like on ice!). So I play with a temp now, a mini laptop mouse https://www.dclstore.co.uk/desc-logitech-mini-optical-mouse-wired-usb-930732-0914-pid-5645.aspx
, which is pretty good, small for my small hands and pretty accurate, but started missing a few clicks and no way I wanna get used to a lappy mouse for gaming plus the mousepad is a mere textile one and moves very often (I have to bend it on the edge of the desk and hold it with my arm..) So this week I'm gettin myself a Logitech G5 (stay true to Logitech hehe) and a Gigabyte Hardcore Gamer mouse pad http://www.emag.ro/mousepad/mouse-pad-gigabyte-hardcore-gamer--pGP-MP8000
Wish me luck _________________ Last edited by Ade on Wed Dec 09, 2009 21:15; edited 1 time in total

is there any need to ever buy a different mousepad than a regular speedpad? http://www.com-pad.com/produkte/mauspads/speed-pad-ng.html I got one 6 or 7 years ago and still use it. a speedpad costs 10-13€ but other mousepads cost up to 3 times more than that. but does it really make any difference? I´m guessing there should be nothing noticeable. while there is a difference between a no name pad and a speedpad, once you get to a certain level of surface there shouldn´t be any difference? _________________ Last edited by Lawitz on Wed Dec 09, 2009 19:09; edited 1 time in total
Here is a little tip that will stop any mouse mat from moving. The yellow desk ovelay is designed to stop plates sliding all overe the table on a rolling ship. Is is avaliable from ship's chandlers.
You could also try a mouse mat with a gel filled wrist rest. The weight of the arm keeps it fairly well in place.

I did it the extra sure way with my old pc desk by using double sided tape. this sticked like the bomb, had a very hard time to get it off but if you don´t move your mousepad often this is the best solution. _________________
ty, zog, what's the name of that yellow material, again?
oh I tried the gel filled wrist rest, it's way too high, I keep my wrist on the desk
@Lawitz, it's not the name, but the texture/techonogy/etc, imo
and I have to admit, using duct tape HAD crossed my mind ) (But the problem was also the material on the mousepad that caused way too much friction for my wee lappy mouse.. weird..). Also, heard about some mousepads having rubber that would prevent sliding off the table. Sure hope my new mouse pad won't give me trouble _________________
The ships chandler sells it off the roll and there might be a chance of an
offcut for a couple of euros. The stuff is quite expensive. I was fortunate
enought to get mine as a freebee at a coastguard saftey promotional day.
(p.s. best to general chandler and avoid the yachty only type.) _________________

Heh, back with updates
I forgot to mention bout that black logitech one important thing that applies to all USB mice: it kept disconnecting itself more and more often I had to unplug it and plug it back in to continue playing
Anywho, my new mousepad (10 euro, which is about 5 times more than a normal textile one here) is twice the size of my old one and quite the best I had so far, it seems.. This gigabyte one that I linked u guys to has rubber under it and doesn't slip off that easily So far, so good.. But the g5 is somewhat a disappointment, it's too big for my small hand and I'm havin trouble setting it right, higher dpi means good movement + bad aim and lower dpi means bad movement + good aim.. can't find a middleway yet. Sure hope I haven't spent all this money for nothing _________________

the logitech G9 costs more but without using the supplied grip attachments its perfect for small hands, like any regular small mouse. I had the G5 as well but the change to the G9 was well worth it. the G5 was just too big.
http://aphnetworks.com/review/logitech_g9/007.JPG (use the bare mouse without the attachments on the right)
always set the dpi to the highest possible and adjust the sensitivity in the game. more dpi = more precision. http://forum.tsgk.com/viewtopic.php?t=4264 if you want to have it perfect.
set the sensitivity so that you can comfortably move around and try to adjust your aim to this speed. surgical precision is useless if you can´t even turn around to face your enemy fast enough. _________________

does that work right with the sensitivity buttons there? would be annoying to click it accidentaly while you play.
Yes works very well and have not hit by mistake yet.
I've set the 2 sensitivity buttons to "keyboard buttons" and ingame they are my zoom buttons for hl2dm.
All buttons are customizable to any key, cool stuff.

It has 2 scroll wheels. WTF!!!
It has an in built tool. WTF!!!
It has 2 batteries. WTF!!!
It turns into a Decepticon. WTF!!!

nice mice
This is me lovely Razer naga epic edition. fully wireless 1000 mhz polling rate, with over 12 thumb buttons and it cycles between 16 million colors. coupled with the second generation destructor mousepad aka the sphynx.
Overall pretty happy with the mouse, comes with many side grips, so it feels like you are using a clawhand mouse when it is a palm grip. the weight is very good for high sensitivity gaming. I have it at 2500 dpi now and it is most excellent. I can traverse the screen with one cm movement.
