lag compensation |
|
anyone plays with lag compensation 1 in his cfg? Or in server cfg? Maybe someone knows this problem from gaming hl2dm... Ive got in every second round about this nerving effect, that my game seems to freeze for 5 seconds, and suddently i am somewhere else in the map. Like a big lagg. I am not sure, but i think its the lag compensation when its turning to 1.
Is anyone there, who has same problems during gaming? First i thought its my router, but since i turn off lag compensation, seems like its over.

Well, yes and no, unlag has also a server side cvar "sv_maxunlag" to avoid this kind of problem, default is 1 (second), 0.5 recommended.
But freezing for 5 seconds is a lot, this could be due to a network big loss.

Maybe its only 3 seconds. But this for sure. sv_maxunlag i dont have in server.cfg. Never heared about. Should try. But this big lag is on many servers, not only mine. So its a local network or cfg problem maybe.

Are you on a wireless network?
Are you on Vista?

It's not necessarily Vista or Wireless. I've always had lag, back when I had XP and now with Vista. I do have Wireless, but my bro who sits in a room next to me doesn't, he gets the same lags at exactly the same moments. I won't bother figuring it out anymore cause I will move out soon anyways, but yeah might be a network problem.
I hope you can figure out what's up with yours! Lags are so annoying!
