weird "grey" bug |
|
lately a bug started to happen whenever I go to windows and back into the game, the entities and the game menu go all grey. I installed the newest nvidia driver 1 1/2 weeks ago, didnīt play dm at that time so I dont know if that causes it. anyone know something about this bug?
edit: apparrantly the 180.48 driver is flawed, installing the 180.84 beta solved it.

I had something abit like this before I think it's when your ram is very low when ingame.

Heres ways to I fixed the problem, you might have to try them all...
1) Right click Half Life 2 DM in steam games go to properties and click Verify integrity of game cache. Then click Defragment cache.
2) A temp fix is when ingame set render to low then back to high
(will refresh the game render)
3) If still not working click delete local game content and delete
half-life 2 deathmatch folder.
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\USER-NAME\half-life 2 deathmatch" Then redownload from steam. (backup maps folder and another you don't want to remove, e.g. cfg)

Steam's built in defragger is crap as it does not cover all the files.
If you want to defrag your Steam games properly, try following the guide here:
http://www.22g.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4444
I'd sincerely recommend anyone to do this
Obviously the more steam games you have, the longer it'll take. Pinguin got a 50% load increase time on TF2 using this method and that was after using the Steam defragger.

To make it easier close steam, then just download this attachment .rar folder and unzip to desktop.
Click the "shortcut" to go to steamapps. (if installed their)
Then copy the "HLExtract" "HLLib.dll" and "defrag.bat" to steamapps and then click the "defrag.bat"
Now just wait.

You are as ever most welcome
I made the mistake of doing it first time last thing at night at a time when I wasn't happy to leave my rig unattended - bad idea!
