PostPosted: Sat Nov 22, 2008 15:21    Post subject:  TSGK Global Stats - VAC Players synchronized

During approximativly 3 years the TSGK Stats has tracked about 3000 VAC Banned players, but with a list of +689 000 players the ratio looked to be pretty low (~0.45 % of VAC banned account).

We decided to run a full synchronization with the Valve VACed players list in order to see which inactive accounts were infact VAC Banned, this scanning took 4 days up and all the +689 000 players have been successfully scanned.
The result of this scanning was really far over our expectation with ~45000 players which are now VAC flagged, the ratio is now ~8% of VAC banned accounts.
Because of that amount, we now provide the possibility to search for a name into our VAC Banned players database using the search box on the VAC list page:
http://hl2mp.tsgk.com/index.php?mode=cheaters&game=hl2mp

At the page above you will also be able to see the full list of currently VAC banned players at TSGK.
Note that some search results could be really disapointing as apparently a good amount of active players did own a VAC flagged account that they switched since with a new one discretly.
We do ban definitivly any player owning more than 2 VAC flagged accounts, 1 could be a mistake but 2 isn't anymore and this whatever the game on which the player has been caught cheating.

Sincerely not an enjoyable news, but at least it is a proof that the VAC system still viable.
We may run another synchro later to keep this public list up to date.
We also fully synchronised the HL2dm Consortium VAC players list.

Our VAC Banned list will always be public and shared with the whole community (see joined file at this post), in anyway we will remove the steamid of anyone being ambarrassed to be listed there whatever the reason their account was caught.
We will also merge VAC from TSGK + HL2dm Consortium in order to provide the most complete list as possible.
Enjoy.

The TSGK VACed steamid and the HL2dm Consortium VACed steamid have been merged.
The total is now 49478 steamid in the file at the 25 november 2008.

Apparently the official VAC status can be HL1 engine or Source engine or boths and there is no indication about it.
Valve does allow HL1 engine VAC banned users to play Source engine multiplayers games and vice-versa, at this time.
This is the reason for why you can see player with a VAC flagged profile being able to play on a VAC Securized source engine server as HL2dm or CSS.

Therefor, if the profile of a player is flagged VAC, what ever the engine on which the ban is effectiv, its access will be obstructed at any TSGK Servers, even if its ban does concern the HL1 engine only and that HL2dm is a source engine game.
We will run regular synchronization in order to keep our cheaters database up to date with the Valve's one and then keep obstructing the access for these accounts.

Since the VAC list has been on TSGK I have been stunned by the amount of new bans Shocked

Is the amount of bans because hl2dm is free or is it because new players
are unable to compete with the better players and are cheating because they think everyone else is Question

I think that server 1 should only be played by players who have played at least 24 hours on the other TSGK servers ... what do you think and could it even be done Question

You probably refer to "Cach Date" which is infact the last event, so VAC flagged players which still try to connect to TSGK get their Catch Date updated to the last connection, most of them are HL1 banned players which know they can still play Source engine but we autokick any VAC flagged account since a Vac securised server still let them connect and play a Source game.
The moment they connect and then are kicked, their Last connection is updated to this moment.
Catch Date row has been renamed to Last Event, it was from the original HLStatsX and has absolutly no sens at all.
Also, every week we do run a scan over the last 7 days active profiles and once a month a global scan, the number then increase at each scan unfortunatly.

its often empty, no need to make it even less full. there was once a top 100 players server which ended up being empty most of the time so the idea was dropped.

I just wanted a way of helping new players who might find themselves on TSGK server 1 and after getting a good beating from the more experienced players might turn to cheating .
maybe a new player only server that players with more than 24 hours could not play on Question

No idea, got caught this morning by the scan and withdrawed the second after.
Wasn't active at HL2dm and played CSS, so probably another CSS hack ban but surely a cheater.
