Hi guys. Ive been playing on your servers for a while now and they're great but recently i have a very odd problem. I lag every 20 seconds or so, ill just stop mid game and then start again about 2 seconds later. As you can imagine this is very annoying. Im using wireless and i know that could be the cause of the problem but i was using it before with no problems. Ill post my pc specs just in case its not though.

Processor: Intel 2.6ghz celeron Crying or Very sad

Ram: 512mbs
Video Card: PNY Geoforce 6600
Hardisk: Maxtor 5200rpm 70gb
Wireless Adaptor Netopia Wireless USB Adaptor

You with Irish Broadband by any chance?

Wireless router should not be a problem. Does your ping spike when this happens?

No im with eircom thinking of switching to bt though. Ill post a video to show exactly whats happens cause its not really lag as such. My ping stays around the average for me when this happens as far as i know ill double check it though

Hmm, could be packet loss though - you're ping may be ok but you're losing data.

You could try 100 pings when it's bad to check average packet loss - in case you don't know how

Unless you've changed anything on your system lately then it's likely to be connection related. It could possibly be the server you're playing on but I'm guessing you've experienced similar on other servers?

I had woeful trouble up until a few months ago - half the problem was that the lag (just as you describe it) was intermittant. In the end I went with NTL (and so far so good)

Packet loss could be it but i got anwsers to all 100 pings in dos so im not sure. I did the connection speed test and i have a 90% quality of service. (whatever that means?)

This lagging happens on every server i play on so its definetly not anything to do with individual server. Maybe its cheap eircom blocking ports the game needs or something
