I've nearly finished book 7 of Terry Goodkind - Wizards 1st rule series. Only 2 more books to go
I will say that i'm going the lazy route as its all on audio format, i listen while i'm working.
What i'm looking for is a good fantasy series to match this. I've all ready ready 11 books of the wheel of time series (last/final book hopefully out soon).
So i've you read any fantasy books that span at least 4 books, please let me know.
Hobbit
LOTR
The Silmarillion
Read these years ago, the Hobbit and LOTR twice (about 16 yrs ago )

You might want to look at Douglas Adam's sci-fi books Borg. Its more to do with space, then any medieval stuff though, and part comedy as well

I have read the hichhikers guide to the galaxy a long time ago and enjoyed that, but this was a single book, i will check out what else he has written. I do like a long series where you really get to know the characters.
I tend to find that SF books tend to be fairly short, 1-3 books (like Rama series- arthur c clarke) where as the fantasy books tend to last a bit longer.
Anyhow keep the recommends coming please.

There's about four or five books in the series, all with the same charcters. The next in the series after Hitchhikers is called, "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe"

The Hitchhiker’s series were some of the best books I ever read. Douglas Adams was brilliant and It was truly sad when he died. He was in the middle of a few books when he passed and these stories were put into a compilation but I cant remember what the book is called. I'm reading Failed States by Noam Chomsky right now. I think I need something a little lighter

LOL, Kraz. I was just making a self-deprecating comment a few months too late. (Confederacy of Dunces......are you calling me a dumbass? I think it works...or would have if my prior post was written in April of this year (I'm pretty slow))
My post was not concerning your joys of Hitchhiker's GTTG.

the book i read atm is a bit scary and in anyway i cant get on because i dont like the way its written. Its The Closer from Donn cortez.
These are the books i read over the last few weeks:
Robert Ludlum - The Moscow Vector (very good and exciting book also part of a series)
Michael Chrichton - Next (very informative book about problems with modern gene research and application in our daily life)
James Patterson - London Bridges (short but good)
Tolkien - The Hobbit (just read it to have it done lol)

That's why some dork invented textbooks. You know, those mystical books that compile hundreds of thousands of man-hours of research and fact checking, over the span of a hundred to a thousand years, into several hundred pages of awesome.

I just finished David Gemmell's Troy trilogy. It's historical / hero fiction rather than fantasy. Gripping page-turning read. I thoroughly recommend them.

I am currently reading "Watching the English - The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour" by Kate Fox.
It's not a novel, but also very entertaining and often quite amusing - if you're an anglophile like me ;P Kate Fox is an English anthropologist and she knows how to put those kinds of dry facts in a very humorous context! I haven't even read half of it yet, it can be a little exhausting cause I'm reading it in English, but so far definitely worth it!
